Process servers do not come in pairs - unless they have served you before and you answer the door with a shotgun.
Feds travel alone or in pairs and they do not bring local law enforcement along. The one that bothered me the first time came alone. When I told him to leave and he started to try and overstay his welcome, I went over and got my shotgun and I said "NOW!" and he left. Now if they come, they'll come in pairs or several at a time.
Don't answer the door, don't talk to them. Just because someone is knocking on your door dosent mean you have to answer it. Just because someone calls you on the phone dosent mean you have to talk to them.
If they had something on you, they'd have a warrent to search and/or arrest you and they'd do so. When they just "want to sit down and have a chat", what they mean to say is "we don't have a case, so we'd appreciate it if you'd incriminate yourself so we have something to goto a judge with and ask for a warrant."
