She knows better than to wake me up. It would have taken me 10 minutes to wake up and puts some clothes on anyway. I sleep in my tighty whities and I sleep deep.

The neighborhood isn't scary but I grew up in a small town where if I left my wallet somewhere by accident, I'd get a phone call 10 minutes later from some one who had found it and wanted to return it. I knew everyone in town and they knew me. I guess I am just not used to the "big city." People aren't friendly here like where I'm from and they give off bad vibes that make me paranoid. Even in the best neighborhood in town, there was a lady kidnapped recently while going for a morning walk. I think in a nice neighborhood, you are probably less safe because you have more stuff worth stealing.

very interesting rictor i had same thing happen to a buddy in pa about 2 months ago. He had a contact in side some organztion that fines companys for dumping oil in the ocean. His source told him that they fined one of Georg bushes sr. oil comapnys becasue they caught them 2 days in a row dumping oil in the ocean. now after three days after telling ne this and he was gonna have the docs to prove it and was going to send it to cnn and all the big news comapnys blah blah. in his final message to me he said there were strange cars sitting in front of his house. Well to make a long story short that was the last time i talked to him. This is a man i have know online for 5 years and talke with everyday. I can not get a reply thru instant messages, emails, and i even sent a certified email and still no contact. he was a power seller on ebay and all his auctions just stopped. It couldnt have been anything important. You see, the if they have something on you - they don't stop by for a cup of coffee first. About 100 of the bastards kick down your door and climb in through you windows with automatic weapons equipped with laser scopes pointed at you, they throw you on the ground, handcuff you and then torture you.

Anytime more than one person is at my door that I dont know, I answer it with a fully loaded, double barrel 12 ga shotgun. Thats for my protection as well as thiers.

Smokey The Bear  02-09-2004 01:11 PM

If you had a good dog, he would have let you know if it was bad guys or good guys.

jigg 02-09-2004 01:29 PM

could be sales people, religious, or detectives perhaps gathering info on someone in the neighborhood.
feds usually move with white or black cars

we recently had somoene in a suit knock on the door once at 10pm but I didn't open we have these obnoctios people trying to sell us magazines

KRL 02-09-2004 01:35 PM

What kind of sites do you do? That could be a key to this. Do you shoot or run teen sites? Maybe a parent of someone on there is out to nail you.

Process servers don't come in pairs. More than likely they were law enforcement, Federal, State, or local detectives. The Feds almost always travel in pairs or will bring a local plainclothes cop with them who knows the area well in case they go into a pursuit.

If it was IRS CID, your bank accounts would be frozen already. They grab your money before you have a chance to move it.

They only bust your doors down if they have an arrest or search warrant. It could just be a grand jury subpoena being delivered by a state attorney.

If you're getting arrested they always wear their blue jackets so if shooting starts, other arriving local law enforcement know they are the good guys.

What the hell? You let the dog wear your dress?

laura99 02-09-2004 07:16 PM

We have an old house so I put plastic on the windows because it's been so cold. I couldn't look out the window to see who it was. Usually I do that first and then I go to the door. If it was friends or family they would call. So it's either someone trying to sell something, religious folk, or the UPS guy. I waited a few minutes before I went down to look out the peephole. Thought it would be the UPS guy and there would either be a note or a package. I looked out the top window of the door and saw those two guys in suits hopping in the back of the Suburban, while the door was open I could see two more guys in front. I'm not going to open up the door and say "hey what do you want?" Fuck that! If they want us they'll have to call first and make an appointment heh.

That is untrue about the plain clothes cop. They are required by law to have one local UNIFORMEd officer.

There have been weird things like that happening in my neighborhood.

About 3 months ago, a big fat ass guy came to the door at 7 PM, which is weird because that is late for anyone to be coming to our door. My boyfriend opened up the door and I was waiting on the first flight of stairs listening. I head him say, "This is Agent so-and-so," and that's about all I could make out.

My boyfriend came upstairs and told me that "Agent Simpson" told him there was a title loan taken out on his car. We knew it was bull because his title is in a safety deposit box at his bank. The guy asked my boyfriend for his car keys, he said, "I don't have my car here, I just took it to Purrfect Auto about an hour ago." Which was the truth, by the way.

He asked him for some proof that there was a loan taken out on it, and the guy hands him a piece of paper with 88 Mustang license plate #******.

After that, he came up and told me about it, and he called 311. In the meantime, the guy left.

Basically, the guy had walked up to the house, and was thinking we were just going to let him drive the car away.

The next day we talked to our neighbor about it and he told us that the same thing happened to the Mexican family across the street, but they dialled 911 and the guy took off running.

I have another more recent story, but I'm too lazy to post it.

See? This is why it doesn't pay to open the door.

I haven't written any letters like that in years. I met some secret service agents back when I was in college and Bill Clinton was president. It wasn't fun.

Process servers do not come in pairs - unless they have served you before and you answer the door with a shotgun.

Feds travel alone or in pairs and they do not bring local law enforcement along. The one that bothered me the first time came alone. When I told him to leave and he started to try and overstay his welcome, I went over and got my shotgun and I said "NOW!" and he left. Now if they come, they'll come in pairs or several at a time.

Don't answer the door, don't talk to them. Just because someone is knocking on your door dosent mean you have to answer it. Just because someone calls you on the phone dosent mean you have to talk to them.

If they had something on you, they'd have a warrent to search and/or arrest you and they'd do so. When they just "want to sit down and have a chat", what they mean to say is "we don't have a case, so we'd appreciate it if you'd incriminate yourself so we have something to goto a judge with and ask for a warrant."

I had the FBI at my place once because a guy my ex-wife was dating after we broke up was the jealous type and thought this CEO of a company was also hitting on her. So this guy who was in another nearby state called this CEO's home and offices and left messages he was going to come and kill him and his family if he continued to pursue her. The message was psycho style I guess and the CEO knew the local SAIC and had the FBI come in and investigate the threats. It was pretty damn bizarre cause I didn't even know anything and the FBI was asking my ex and I everything we knew about this guy.

If they are coming to get you, Feds always have local law enforcement with them or close by pre-positioned, in case anything gets wild.

You're right ... maybe you should wait some times and avoid open the door to these guys. If it's important I guess you will have a paper in the mailbox or a phonecall.

Btw if you don't have a handgun, maybe that would be better to buy one... just my 2 cents.
ho yeah, and make sure you won't leave your gf alone in the house without any security or possibilty to call quickly neighbors.

Our neighbor is a complete psycho. He introduced himself to me as a crazy vet. He was in Vietnam for years, supposedly as a sniper, so he's killed a shitload of people. Trust me, he's not afraid of going up and starting some shit, I've witnessed it plenty of times. If I screamed loud enough I guarantee his head would be popping out the door to see what's going on, he's very nosy, so is his wife. I was mowing the grass and a wasp landed on me and I screamed, she came running outside to see if I was ok heh.

Murphy_Dog 02-10-2004 07:19 AM

Maybe you should not say you are a "contract killer" and offer pimpdog to "bury someone in the desert"

Don't think for one minute that your comments here go un-noticed.

That was just the other day also (over the weekend) They show up on Monday? Hmmmm Man, wheni read your post I thought for sure thats why they showed up. Prolly just to ask some questions, but still. I'll bet they will be back.

it's better to have good relations with him then :) But I'm sure it's good to know that your neighbor will be here if you need any assistance.
