and yeah im gonna sit here and back them up when guys like you start calling the support team of a VERY good company names.

live with it man, ive had nothing but good support and uptime with them and i WILL back them up.

If their support team actually answered questions asked and were usful. I'm glad you can be one of the lucky ones who never has issues with them (how much free bandwidth did you say you get) i am not so lucky.

dude, my point is, running to the boards is silly. they have the most accesible tech crew ive ever seen and i just think you were out of line slamming them instead of dealing with it like an adult and going through the proper channels.

i simply refuse to believe you got blown off like you say you did.

Believe whatever the fuck you want to believe you moron. Find any single post where my nickname and webair are tied in together and you'll see that i have said nothing but positive shit about them.

I have been hosting with them for probably close to a year now and have never had to use their support dept as i manage to run my own servers for the last 5+ years just perfectly.

So before you open your fucking mouth again, and possibly cause them to lose a customoer (me) shut your fucking yap you idiot.

I have small connection problems with sql and email the past 3 or 4 nights but nothing that I'm going to worry about at this point. I just got switched over to them and one of their support guys was fucking excellent in helping me with switching and transferring a site with an sql database. I'm giving them time, I've got a good deal and like everything so far, a little glitch here and there isn't much to worry about for me yet. But this is just my experience, I won't go calling everyone idiots for expressing their opinion like our buddy jim does.

i will never ever use an host i cannot visit by myself to kick some butt if shit happen
a DDoS should be solved in less than 10 minutes in any solid compagny

honestly, you fueled the fire by being the DEFENDER OF WEBAIR! this issue would have never gotten the attention it did if you would have read his posts objectively and let it slide. Instead, you got fired up over a simple post "having problems with webair, I am". You somehow construed that to be whining.

Someone is having problems and wondering if they are the only ones on the block having it. When it's reported as a network problem, it's certainly feasable for a person to check and see if it's truly a network problem or if someone is blowing smoke up their skirt.

Instead of letting it blow over or addressing the issue, you start calling him a whiner and telling him to go to support when he is trying to validate what support has told him.

There you stand tall in your haze of ignorance waving your sponsored sig banner with pride stoking the fires of a thread that was never intended to flame webair. I think the market value of your sig just went up! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Webair is pretty good as far as hosts go .... but my server is acting a little strange tonight aswell. At least crucial sites are up and working.

One thing i have noticed for anyone reading here from webair, is that your techs really don't like installing webstats for a large number of domains. I know it takes a little time and 99% of techs would rather take different support jobs, but after soon to be 4 trouble tickets and plesant reminders ..... :)

Still pretty happy with webair though ...

kmanrox 02-06-2004 02:16 AM

they're getting DDOS attacked by what i can only assume is a jealous competitor... they have many of those =)

kmanrox 02-06-2004 02:33 AM

from the senior tech @ webair to me:

Everything is fine now. DDOS problem fixed.

You mean like SCO? Or Yahoo? Or Ebay?... hell even our very own GFY, - or anyone else who has been owned for hours on end by DDOS attacks?

Massive intelligent DDOS attacks might take a little more than 10 minutes to thwart.... don't ya think?

To say any DDoS should be solved in < 10 mins is laughable.

Part-timer 02-06-2004 03:28 AM

I have had alot problems with Webair too. They are not so perfect like many peoples here in forum say so. I agree that they have one of the best support what i've seen, but that wont help if they cant solve the problems.
Anyway im happy to theyr performance right now, been few weeks without any problems.
