my cpu usage is up to 50%

it is never this high, its a 3.2ghz 1gbram radeon9800 computer... i have 30 processes running, which is the norm (is that high?) but the cpu usage is NEVER high.. and i can hear it is louder than normal...

how can i lower this bitch back down

one would need a bit more information to answer, assuming your on windows ctrl-alt-del and look in the processes to see which process is eating up the cpu

P2P Networ... 10,200k
blackice.exe 8,504 K

thats ordered by mem usage... theres a ton of other small ones, particularly svchost.exe 5 times but they're all small.

order them by cpu usage to see which one is using a lot not by memory. sometimes just a flash banner on a page your visiting would spike up the cpu usage

actually yeah something is fucked up... i recieved an email from Postmaster: Undeliverable Mail when i woke up... and inside it says

Uhg...here we go again...that doesnt mean your infected...everybody seems to think that. It means someone might be infected and the virus spoofed your email address.

but just that one thing wouldnt do it run adaware to get rid of all
the spyware and see if it still runs high

well i went to msconfig and unchecked "Load startup items" and restarted... and now the cpu % is down back to 1% or so... but i ran adaware and got rid of like 33 different things.
