That's how I feel about it. When I was pregnant with my first child his father was having an online "fling". It totally killed my spirit. It took time away from me and it made me very upset, just like an offline relationship would have. Of course, if he'd been having cybersex with someone that he would have never talked to again AND he'd let me know about it before hand, then I probably wouldn't have cared.

I guess it does depend on the context. An online fling with someone you never talk to again isn't that bad, but an ongoing thing is, in my opinion.

It is more of mental attraction than physical attraction. They are both there, but you can start to develop a longing for the other person, a deep desire. That would scar me more than just a physical one night stand. When you meet on a computer you share things more than you would if you met face to face.

Ask yourself this question, would the person you love be hurt if they knew what you were doing? If the answer is yes then it is betrayal.

by that logic then flirting would be cheating, if it made the person you're with jealous as it usually does if even for a second. Or even LOOKING at someone else lustfully if even for a second as that always makes the other person in a couple feel inadequate if only for a moment.

i think it can lead to cheating...but if you're in a happy, healthy relationship why would you even want to spend time online with someone else? thus, in my opinion, people who are having cybersex online already have an unresolved issue in their relationship and they are having sex online because they aren't 100% happy

i can't explain why i feel this way, but if my bfriend were watching a cam girl performing in a chat room, that would not bother me. but if he were typying to her/on the phone with her, that would bother me. i guess it's there personal one-on-one interaction that, to me, would be cheating. passively watching is okay.
