You cant expect that same boot to do both..
Two different animals.

You just dont buy a 60k Esclade to do off roading and mountain driving..

Its used for lookin nice in the city..

And you dont drive around a 4 runner with mountain tires to drop you off at the Valet of the hot club on a strip hoping to look good either.

Two different beasts.

lol, yeah, i hear ya man. but why make them 4wd and get 7 gallons per mile? lol. it's like the off-roading commercials they make for the rav4, a joke

some suv's look nice that way, and they're definitely not meant for off-roading. and you're right, most of them would look rather hideous with mud tires

i'd probably never own something like an escalade or lexus suv. the only suv i've ever really owned was a fairly nice mid-70's 3/4 ton full-time 4wd blazer with 32's. but it went through about 10 gallons of fuel on a normal to-work-and-back day

about as luxury as i think i'd get is a 4runner or a trailblazer (both seem to be a good mix of comfort and off-roadability) with an suv.

i'll save my 'fancy car' money for a porsche tt convertible

spinners are fucking stupid. I saw a navigator the other day with them... he was sitting at a light and his fucking wheels spinning away... wrecked the car IMO

For once i agree with Amp...those things simply retarded.

I can see little kids liking those things, its shiny and it moves but full grown people having those wheels shouldnt be taken seriously. I saw it once in Holland on a Volkswagen...the little gangsta inside probably had no clue how ridiculous it looks.

I see them a lot on MTV cribs and all those guys act like it is some classy thing because its expensive.
Well let me tell you, its far from classy.

If there were spinners these little thiings would be installed on top of the chromes..

<img src="http://www317.pair.com/customw/catalog/images/smoothspin.jpg">

and that would indeed be ugly.

You guys are posting the add ons.

Only Davin makes the REAL "spinners"

And they run about $8,000-12,000 per set

Don't be fooled by that ghetto shit most of these clowns have!

I swear they shouldnt call these particualr models "SUV's"..

They should call em something like Huge Road Luxury Vehicles..

No way I could see these things off roading.

They just arent made for it. They are made to look good on the road for 60k..

Plain and simple.

Want something more rugged looking, get a 4 runner

we went shooting over thanksgiving in arizona. took my buddy's 4 runner a couple hours east of phx up into the mountaints. Ended up going shooting
at reclaim pit. HUGE rocks, a couple thousand feet of them. 4 runner ruled through that. Wouldn't do it at speed though...esp with 30+ semi auto rifles and a few thousand rounds.

(if anyone is interested I got the lat lon while I was there. Its sorta out of the way, but apparently its cool to shoot there. )

spinners were a very unique concept when they first came out. i like them, i would not pay the retail price for them seeing as how the "real spreewells" cost about 5k per wheel and that in itself is another car. i like the rims though, they make a vehicle stand out even more and really do turn heads. oh yea and to answer the question they became popular by when latrell sprewell was showing off his lambo and spun the wheels(some black guy in NY actually came up with the concept for the spinning rim but sprewell was the spokes person somewhat so that is why they are dubbed spreewells). haven't met any young people who don't like them, has anyone who responded to this thread saying they don't like them under 28?
AMP that escalade that you posted doesn't have spinners on it, they look like 23''s or 24''s.

i think they're a waste of $. if you got that much $ to waste their cool but the kind of people that have them are the type to break their back just so they can save enough $ up for them.

Here's a common example for some of you guys who dont understand the concept of how Oversized wheels can really class up a rig..

Its not always about the bling bling..

It really does dress up and add some class...

Here is your Typical bottom of the line Navigator..
Nothin wrong with it, Id say about 90% of the navigators on the road look like this.

<img src="http://www.boneprone4life.com/hot/before.jpg">

And here is one with some 22's put on it..

No its not wiggered out, or bling bling yo like many of you seem to be bitching about.. It adds a level of class to the thing..

And its all in the wheels. It really dresses it up.

Oh man, thats even more pathetic..

Someone mentioned that people turn their heads to look at it...i wonder if this person even realizes a lot of people only look at it because its silly.

Its the same with those riced up japanese plastic shit cars...these guys drive around and i look at them and think, damn what an idiot...and the guy behind the wheel thinks i look at him because he's cool.
