Overture problems

Hi,

I am having all the trouble in the world to have this page accepted at Overture:

http://www.raventgp.com/site/buk.htm

The reasons are:

A) Are not clearly adult in meaning - for example, "women," "girl," "redhead," "lesbian," "lingerie," "cheerleader" and so forth.
B) Deal with sexual issues on a medical, clinical, or educational basis.
C) Are academic or medical terms - for example, "breast," "anus," "genitals" and so forth.
D) Contain the term ?girl? or ?boy.?

I ask them to be more clear, and that was their f@$#@^king answer...

That page is on adwords without any problems whatsoever, but for Overture i simply don't know wh'at wrong with it. I think they reviewed each words out of their context, maybe...I don't have any FPA for that sponsor, so really what kind of option that leaves me if i can't put any description or sale pitch.

The guy called me to confirm the 50$ transaction, and i told him not before they accept my pages.

Any advices is welcome. For now i am not impressed with Overture reviewing process, i might say...

Their quality is low now, and their site review process can be a pain in the ass, I'd postpone it ...

umm yeah, listen to Cash, he knows everything, not just how to post ref codes.

Seriously, stay away from Overture. The more people bidding the more my costs go up. Bastards.

I've had awful luck with Overture. They denied my listings based on content, I wrote and told them that there is no nudity on my site, then they deny based on my links, I change my links, then they deny because I had a topless drawing. I've removed that and am now waiting for the newest reason for denial. It's absolutely ridiculous!

On another note, this is proved by the fact that bids have decreased to lots and lots of listings ... so, don't worry, Rich, once the newcomers see they don't make much money, they'll keep the bids around 10c, like all the others.
The only insane bids are for non-porn, such as pills, and non-adult stuff, software, etc.

not only is it a pain to go through their cc verification system, it's even worse trying to get a listing approved.. you'd have to make a new dull page just for them to have a decent shot

Sounds like part of the problem you're having is that you're bidding on search terms that Overture considers to be "non-adult", but asking to link them to a site that's clearly XXX.

They're never gonna let that happen -- shortest answer they could/should have given you is to bid on terms that they consider to be XXX... of course, they'll never tell you what those terms *are* -- that'd be too easy and intelligent...

The easy way to tell if a keyword is on Overture's adult list is to see if other advertisers are bidding on it. If yes, it's adult. The better way is to clear your cookies and then do a search on Overture for that keyword. If you get an adult warning page, then it's an adult keyword for sure. This gets long to do unless you're a good scripter.

read my post above first. That will filter out all the non-adult keywords that Overture doesn't have on their master adult list (which they won't share, frustrating I know...).

That will fix the problem with your listings, now on to your site problems (you haven't been rejected on these yet, you're gonna have a whole new round of rejections). Overture requires you to have an 18+ warning at the bottom of the page, you need to put one in. All your descriptions should have the word "affiliate" at the end to indicate you're a reseller and not the owner of the adult sites. Lastly, the bukkake pics might be a bit too graphic for Overture, you might need to remove or censor them. As well, you should have somewhere on the page the keyword that was searched. So if a keyword you're bidding on is "young teen facials", you should have a derivation of this on the page somewhere.

Hope this helps.

Overture doesn't cater to the adult industry at all. I was jumping through hoops for months to get my listings up, and they still declined 98% of them. Overture sucks, and adult listings aren't even listed on Yahoo.

Once Yahoo gets their shit together Overture should be pretty good though. It's going to be like google's adwords, but for Yahoo.

lol, I've been rejected for every reason in the book. I finally get accepted when they run out of reasons and there's a lot of them!

Just wait until they want passwords to "review" your members area. LOL, they're annoying as hell but I want their traffic.

The main problem is your keywords. As someone else mentioned if your term(s) isn?t on their adult master list it will get rejected even if the terms have a clearly adult meaning. A couple of weeks ago I had the term ?free porn movie trailer? delisted because it was taken of their adult master list. I had that term as an active listing for over a month. The guy I spoke to on the phone said that shouldn?t have been delisted, and he would resubmit it to the adult master list, but told me not to hold my breath because the list is only updated once per-quarter. Also, I took a look at your page and the nature of your content may be giving you some problem. While Overture will list some adult content pages they tend to shy away from pages that have content of an extreme nature on it.

Bukkake GGG

and

Facial Bukakke

are hardly non adult bidding terms

That is what i have replied to them, give me the terms. I told them: "do you prefer sluts, whore, cow, fuckholes instead of women, girls, lesbians, boys, guys ?"

Somehow, i doubt they will like it .

Well, they can fuck themself. I don't have time to loose after their stupid and abnocious system. Obviously they don't want adult sites, and have detrimental rules for them. I will put that money back in Adwords, their direct competitor, who, overall have more a professionnal way of doing business.
