a techie firewire question
Just got a firewire compact flash reader. I am running it on a XP system. When I put a compact flash card in it, the system freezes and when I remove the compact flash either it unfreezes the system or closes all programs and I am looking at a blank desk top and the only way to restart it is shut it off ctrl-atl-delete dont work. Help

Firewire and PC don't get along too well.
For me it always was a 50-50 chance game ... either it worked with the PC or it didn't. No idea what you can do. JMK |

1> uninstall/reinstall driver reboot (then reattach device make sure driver isn't being loaded from cash and is up to date)
2> power problems? like USB some firewire devices draw power from the firewire, and can cause lock ups do to not enough power. 3> Dude your getting paqued.... |
