I'm starting to wonder if some of the people in this thread can tell the difference between somone with a hit song as opposed to somone who can actually sing. Those two don't always go hand in hand. Just cause they have some songs we like doesn't mean they can sing at all. |

i love david bowie, cant express how much ... one of the greatest of all time, i have damn near every cd and im not talking greatest hits, but put him next to freddie mercury ... nah. If were talking about the best singers, i wouldnt put him. this coming from one of the biggest bowie fans on earth :2 cents:
|
I love Bowie (even if he didn't event glam <g> ) too but the question was about a band and whilst he played with bands he is more of a guy with a band backing him.

I can't listen to an entire album of either of them, the more eccentric they get the more it just gets on my nerves. But they are great singers, in terms of range, energy and song writing. Just doesnt get me off.

Now im wondering what defines a great singer. I'm sure quite a few factors. Seeing huge generation gaps in the replies. At the end it's just personal preference.
rock on :thumbsup |
