Ok my computer is fucked.. need input.

I go to load Photoshop, it shows the initialization screen but it goes WAY too fast, and then when it should put me into the program, it just disappears, no tab, no indication that I ever loaded it. I've restarted, rebooted, etc, and I cannot for the life of me figure out WHAT THE FUCK. It worked PERFECTLY two hours ago. Ideas? My computer has been acting a little buggy since I got home, but I just did a virus check and it passed.. I'm ripping my hair out. Perhaps a hardware problem? And why only photoshop and my video software then?

Blah I hate computers!!

Good news all,

Further to my prior email:

The following has corrected all errors:

1. Load Adobe Photoshop
2. QUICKLY press Crtl+Alt+Shift on load to reset settings (right on load, and be fast - it took me several tries).

Everything is back to normal now! Phew...

Uninstall any fonts you may have installed recently.

Uninstall Photoshop using its uninstaller. then reboot.

then install Reg Vac
http://superwin.swmirror.com/regvacz.exe

Just put it in novice mode and hit clean registry.

after its done reboot again.

Then try reinstalling photoshop.

If that doesnt work you might have to go into reg vacs expert mode andf play aroudn with software vac to cleain up any shared DLLs that might be corrupt.

Also do a full chkdisk if you havent done one lately.

I had the same thing happen, damn warez!

Gave me a good reason to create a new partition and install XP. I now have a 2000 Pro partition that I seldom use.

Wtf... your a php programer and your solution to a software error is formatting? I hope you were being sarcastic.

An in place XP install is the FURTHEST you would have to go to fix somthing like that.

FORMAT? Dude, that is if your OS is fucking up! I'd never tell somebody to FORMAT when PS is just acting up!

I'd gotta say that reinstalling will take care of the problem!

I just spent the last hour blocking adware and I set all my internet security to HIGH. My wife's computer is plagues with adware, this shit is ridiculous, my guess is you have the same problem, I've been rebooting my machine 3 times a day because of this shit, some people are such fucktards, how does it help anyone to bring commerce to a shutdown with spam and crap like this. Fucking morons, now I can't even do smileys anymore because of my high level of protection.

Its not as easy as reinstalling. When I had the prob, I tried reinstalling PS 5.5 and 6.0 when 5.5 failed. I also tried to clean out my registry of all PS entries. I got tired of fucking with it, thats why I installed XP on a new partition.

If it was easy as a software reinstall, she probably wouldn't have posted this.

Nope no adware.. I don't use IE EVER I use mozilla only and I check for adware every day or so anyways.. This is strictly a PS thing. My advice, don't use IE :P

Good luck with your computer glitch, Lady Mischief. I was given many problems when a certain hacker invaded my computer.

If someone wants to cause you computer pain, they will find a way. It's like trying to stop a burglar who decides he wants to break into your particular house.

Life's a bitch.

I also like mozilla, but I still use IE. Sometimes I believe that Microsoft is one gigantic virus. If Jesus' suggestions don't work, email me and I will have my computer expert help you.

Make sure you update your Spybot from within the application itself, seems like they have almost daily updates, as the spammer fuckheads are also updating their junk daily..

I don't know if it'll make a difference with anyone else, but I tried the CTRL-ALT-SHIFT trick a dozen or so times without any luck before almost giving up, then I tried the opposite side of the keyboard and wham, first try it worked. Why it makes a difference WHICH combination of CTRL-ALT-SHIFT I use boggles my mind.

All is well and her computer is fine now.
