Everyone knows that you can determine a domain name typein traffic by looking at the Overture Suggestion Tool.
When you do a search for domainname.com and Overture shows 350 searches per month for that exact domain, then you know that it receives probably 100-400 typeins per day. ( that's not really helpful, since 100 or 400 is a BIG difference, but that's not the point here ). But let's look at this example: Overture's showing: 307 for ebonyporn.com ( 395 one month ago ) and 393 for lesbianporn.com ( about 360 one month ago ) so the numbers are quite similar.... but if you look only at the keywords, you see: 71704 lesbian porn 12624 ebony porn so that;s a significant difference... so does this mean, that lesbianporn.com will receive significantly more typeins per day than ebonyporn.com or the numbers can be quite possibly very similar? Nah, I don't own and I am not buying any of them, that's just a theoretical question. I am interested in your experience and opinions... ( KRL, Mr Fiction, Space Ace...? ) ![]()

I see that no one has an idea.
Anyway, I'll bump this until I get a reply.

It really could mean anything. Say lesbianporn was a TGP site that had millions of uniques over the last few months. ebonyporn had a few hundred uniques over the months. People will search for lesbianporn more simply because they've been to the site.

probably the answer is 'yes'. But i don't think you can say that if domainxyz.com gets 350 searches per month it'll get 100-400 per day, probably far less.

Unless you get top search placement the keyword searches have nothing to do with traffic to the domain. They're good for brandability, otherwise that's it. If it doesn't show up with the extention in the overture list don't expect much.

Typeins are hard to estimate.
In theory, the name with more searches apart should get more type in traffic, even if they are similar with the .com. That doesn't mean it's true. In this case, I think it's a safe bet that LesbianPorn.com is a better risk than EbonyPorn.com - not just because it will probably get more traffic, but because it will probably convert better. Ebony could mean black girl or black guy or both or interracial, you don't know. If you are buying the domain, then the one with more searches apart is probably worth more for resale as well. One thing to be aware of is that the tool combines some terms and also includes a lot of fake searches. |

No, I am not buying any of them ( though ebonyporn.com was for sale 2 weeks ago here on GFY ). To be honest, I never thought that someone looking for "ebony porn" - whether in search engines, or through the domain - could be looking for gay porn.

Lesbian is pretty straight forward, even though you could argue that they could be looking for black lesbians. I'm sure there are those here who would argue that ebony traffic is easier to convert than lesbian, but that's not what I've seen. |
