Why the fuck anyone wants to live in a frigid climate is beyond me. I left that bs 26 years ago. Never again.

Florida is the best place in the world to live. Its got everything.

How anyone could live in Florida is beyond me. Anything south of the Mason-Dixon line is a hellhole.

SE and Brandy I hope everything works out for you guys :thumbsup I'm sure the Vegas flu doesn't help any, Brandy hang in there babe!

Sorry to hear about your troubles....that really sucks! I have lived in both scottsdale and miami, and I choose Miami.

The humidity isn't a problem if you live on the water,
the mosquitos aren't a problem with the salt water either, (only after it rains and there are puddles)
scottsdale is really nice, but it's very conservative and really BORING

:2 cents:

Good luck bud.....and get in touch if you pick fort lauderdale, you're welcome to come out on my boat anytime
(I'll use any excuse to take my boat out!:Graucho )

take care

OOOOOOOOH MY LITTLE FRIENDS ARE SOAKING TO THE BONES!

I feel so bad, you guys are too sweet a fucking folks for this shit to happen to you! What the fuck?

Definitely a sign to get the fuck out of that Noof stank god forsaken colder than fuck hick ass town! You two are warm hearted and belong in a warm and sunny state.

If you are taking votes, I vote for AZ cuz it's closer but then... I wouldn't mind having more friends to visit in Florida, he he he!

Best of luck with the insurance folks, I can guarantee dealing with them will be like passing a spiked watermelon size stone...but with lots of patience and lots of spit, an elephant can screw a bee. Moral of my story... anything can happen!

Love you both!
Leslie

Looking on the bright side:

1) You'll get your money back, including hotel reimbursement

2) Just got out of that long lease!

3) Just lowered your moving costs!

4) All new furniture, etc...

Your woman is on the phone riding me about the commercial so I must stop spreading my positiveness for now, he he he!

Hey, we don't have tarantulas. We have scorpions :-) Seriously, I have lived in both Florida and now I am in Phoenix. There are pros and cons to both. The things I love about Phoenix are these: Major airline hub (America West), within 5 hours drive time to; Vegas, San Diego, Mexico (45 minutes by plane). 2 - 3 hours drive to the mountains and skiing, or the Grand Canyon. Perfect place to mountain bike and hike. And just about every home has a pool and hottub outside which you can use year round, without being carried away by mosquitos or palmetto bugs. Oh and today it was in the upper 70's with hardly any humidity. Did I mention the sunsets? Phoenix/Scottsdale and surrounding cities, are really hopping these days. Lots of industry people are relocating here and it isn't quite as stuffy as one would think. I don't regret my cross country move one bit. If you have any questions or need any help should you decide to relocate here, don't hesitate to contact me.
Good luck to you on your insurance claim. I hope everything turns out for the best. :thumbsup

Hey...thanks for the great feedback.

As it turns out...can you believe this shit...the insurance company sent us the wrong Adjuster. So we have to wait another day now.

Ugh...the delays are what keep us from really deciding which direction to take.

webgurl 01-12-2004 07:22 PM

Are you asking me if I can believe an insurance company is incompetent? Um, is this a trick question? :eek7

Seriously, you are more than welcome for the feedback. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Vitasoy 01-12-2004 08:00 PM

Damn, that sucks sorry to hear... we've had that problem a few years back so I kinda know how your feeling.

jimmyf 01-12-2004 08:18 PM

What a bad. I don't know what I would do. mostly just turn around and walk out the door. And come back in 3 or 4 days. I can't put with stuff like you decribed. Good luck!

Afternoon all...

Would you believe that we were just assigned our damn adjuster!

So we are patiently waiting to hear the outcome, whilest searching for someplace to call home.

We'll let ya know.

Ross 01-13-2004 01:14 PM

Sorry to hear that man. Hope you settle in somewhere nice for the 4 months you face being out your house.

missbunny 01-13-2004 01:22 PM

wow, I'm so sorry

that's terrible

good luck!

Weber 01-13-2004 01:27 PM

Oh... an awful thing....
I hope everything will be ok soon!

SEGuru 01-13-2004 05:58 PM

So the verdict is in from the Insurance Adjuster...they will cover my shit that was damaged...no issues.

But to move...they were not going to cover.

We squaked. They have budged to cover....get this...a local move!

So methinks to give us some time, I'll let them move us into storage. Lease a furnished place for 6 months in Fla or AZ and go from there.

Seems the most reasonable gameplan at this point.

Haven't had time to work out where we really wanted to go yet though. That's what makes this a crazy move.

Jay3 01-13-2004 08:59 PM

Sorry to hear about that, best of luck to you and your family.

Go4LiveCash 01-14-2004 12:50 PM

SEguru and Brandy,

that is shocking news. We are so sorry for you guys. It was great meeting you and Brandy again and having so much fun partying our asses off with you in Vegas after such a long time (2.5yrs). We can only imagine how much you looked forward to getting a good restful weekend at home but instead found your house and personal belongings ruined and once more had to check into a hotel.

Hopefully it has nothing to do with the female cab driver in Vegas... You talking about shaving the goat and getting a slip and slide for the hotel.. She prolly was Jamaican or from New Orleans... these people are into all kinds of scary voodoo stuff lol!

Take it as a sign :-) Maybe it's destiny to move to either AZ or FL just earlier than planned. Who knows what happens next in this frickin cold town you guys are trapped in. For sure you will make the best out of it. Take it positive! You deserve warm weather and sun year around!

Thanks again for sharing your heart warming and moving story in Vegas of how you guys met. You are definitely soulmates who found each other and no one/nothing can stop you guys or bring you down. We are so happy for you!

We are glad you made the trip home safe. These days with all the terror in the world it's the best news to hear when friends arrived home safely. The first thing I (JP) heard from Ewan was when I logged into the Rainmaker chatroom: "Dude, you here about SEguru?" I sat there like frozen for a moment and thought of much worse things than your house being ruined. Since Ewan didnt write anything more at that point and I just arrived home from the airport in a weird state of mind from having no sleep. Then gladly in the next moment I got an ICQ from you with this message thread URL in it. So
I knew, "Ok, Gu is alive and well and able to post a message."

Sorry for my "31050" ICQ before that. I had no idea when I first sent that message... just was the very first thing I did when I got home and saw you online on ICQ. Until last night I couldn't read or post much. We slept like 1.5 days straight until we felt "normal".

So today - after I had to get a new motherboard (and our TV in the bathroom broke...series of bad luck to webmasters who were in vegas or in the cab?!) and reinstall windows (bluescreen with each boot) - I read through this entire thread and am glad you guys have insurance and so many friends are giving their support. Certainly you will tell those insurance morons what you want and make it happen (judging from how great you fought the little omelette incident at TI lol).

As for moving, South FL sounds like more fun than AZ, closer to the FL Keys, Jamaica, crazy parties/clubs at South Beach, the summer tradeshow, and of course, closer to us too lol. Lots of Webmasters/Adult companies are in the area. Orlando is just a few hours up the turnpike for great family fun at Disney/Universal. Of course Twinkley and Buran also live up there.

As you know, we will be moving to south FL in the next weeks too. Let me know if you need a hookup with a realtor there. We did some research and found a really good one for pool rental homes. If you want us to keep an eye open while we are down there this weekend to check out houses, let us know.

If you need anything, you guys got our ICQs, emails and cell number.

Hugs, much love and best of luck to both of you for a new start!

JP and Vivian
