JEBUSS!!!! What happened there!? Sorry to hear about flood out.. I can't even imagine coming home to that. You must have lost your nut for a few minutes. My next door neighbor has water pouring out from under his garage door right now as I type this... I think his outside hose bib was still on and its like 10 degrees out there. Good luck with the recovery. :( |
wow that really sucks dude.. of your choices I would pick Ft. Lauderdale. Feel free to contact me if you want recommendations on neighborhoods down here or anything like that.
|
That is not a good way to start the new year. Sorry to hear about your misfortune and I wish you the best of luck.

50 Frozen Pipes.
Sorry to hear that. Why the fuck anyone wants to live in a frigid climate is beyond me. I left that bs 26 years ago. Never again. Florida is the best place in the world to live. Its got everything. |
Fuck, what tough luck!
Same thing happened to my family's house in Vegas. Forgot to turn off the water to the house when I left Internext a couple of years ago. Got a $300 water bill when no one was even in the house. TUrns out a faucet was leaking and flooded the whole house. Had to remove everything from the house to get rid of the threat of mold (Cost $60,000). Hopefully you'll have better luck, SixNine |

Now its getting wierd.
The Insurance Agents are giving us the run around. Now they're telling us, it may be a couple days before we hear from the Claims Agent. So we're still in limbo, and am still calling a hotel home. This sux. |
Damn, that sucks ass...sorry to hear that, man. :(

Sorry to hear about that....
You should opt for Fort Lauderdale. That is where I live.... the weather is great, there is a lot to do, etc. |
sorry to hear
|
Wow . .that sucks really bad. Sorry to hear it.
|
SE and Brandy, I'm sooooo sorry to hear about your luck! It was great meeting you in Vegas - you're certainly "good people". I wish I had a house to offer you somewhere warm. All I have are my best wishes to you, and I'm afraid they're on their way from Toronto - so they'll be cold as hell when they arrive. :(

If he's not home there are other things you can do, like calling the community association (if you have one) or even the housing authority or police. They can get a locksmith to go in to the house with a plumber and get that stuff shut off before it ruins his whole house. Better to come home to $100 or so worth of locksmith/plumber bills than to $60k worth of water damage. If it were your house, you'd want him to do the same thing and help you out while you were gone. SEGuru, I think storing the stuff was the best idea - take a few months and live in both Ft Laud and AZ and see which you like better! |

I hate florida worse than hot weather..lol. No mountains, no snow, no outdoor winter sports, sea salt rusts everything, I have met some of the most decrepit and fucked up people there...The only time i have to go back is to see my daughter graduate and that will be hell. you can have Florida :1orglaugh |
That sucks. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. However rather than dwell on the bad, try to look on the bright side. Now you've got an excuse to remodel the place and get new computers.
|
Wow sorry to hear that! If you need any help finding a place in Phoenix I have a few calls place out there myself looking for homes!
|
That really sucks :(
|
Daron, So sorry to hear about this ... Know my thoughts are with you and Brandy and please, don't hesiate if there is anything I can do! You got my numbers!
|
Hey all,
Your continued "well-wishes" are indeed warmly received. Brandy ended up with the usual convention crud / cold following the show. This doesn't help, considering coming back from Vegas as tired as we normally are. hehehhee We're still waiting for word from an adjuster, as there were tons of peeps hit with this kinda shit last week. So, the debate continues where we are goingl Lots of good input on the Lauderdale/Scottsdale thing. May come down to a coin toss! hehehehe |
Darin, most home policies will cover a hotel/other housing for a period of time (mine's 30-60 days). Be thankful you live in a relatively dry climate. Here when this happens, it's a battle to get rid of the mold that forms while trying to dry the house out.
And again, MAKE A PAPER TRAIL AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. :thumbsup |

He he yeah that post was pretty lame. Sorry to here about your home Darin, Hope you get back on your feet soon.:thumbsup Damn Dr. G, you need to move someplace warmer dude!!! |
Yeah, we are documenting everything.
The good news is, Brandy is on the fone with the Ins. Adjuster at this very moment! CROSS YOUR FINGERS PEEPS. WE NEED GOOD NEWS! |
