I was a victim of check fraud.

Long story short, I come back from Vegas and look at my personal banking shit online. So i notice 2 checks for a large amount paid . Now I am not the best bookkeeper but I was like yooooo wtf?

The checks were out of sequence, I dont write any checks on my personal account that much. Go to bank , had to close the account and waiting for the checks now to see wtf it was. I am gonna get the money back and shit but I gotta fill out the paperwork and all that shit now.........................

Fucking fraudssssssssssss

Check you statements guys with a fine tooth comb cause it can happen to you

I don't write cheques ever. I pay for everything with Switch card so I can easily keep track of things.

A week before Christmas I was at the mall. Next thing I knew I had lost my wallet with my keys attached. It was only my small credit card holder, but the scum that found it was smart enough to figure out my pin code and withdrew $500. My point is, dont be a idiot like me and have your last four digits of your social as your code.

Lukily I got it all back, but its a hard lesson to learn...especially when Mr. Shaw says no more LV wallets

Over here we get an automatic pin code sent out to us so that shit doesn't happen. Of course you can change it but thats dumb.

If the bank gives you a specific code then no on would ever guess it. Makes you rest a little easier knowing if you do loose your cards then its not a big deal. Call the bank and cancel

I don't think it's actually the FDIC, but you're covered. But banks don't lose money. Whatever gets paid out, even though you're personally credited, will be trickled down to everyone in the form of higher rates, fees, etc. I hate thieves.

something similar happened to myexwife 3 days ago.. someone hacked her paypal account or something and drained all the money in her bank account... she has police reports, fbi is even involved in it now (it was alot of money).... they think it had something to do with the linkage from paypal to the bank account...

I wonder if she replied to one of those fake Paypal emails...I got 5 of them yesterday and since PP is too stupid to know how to block hotlinking, they even pull all the graphics off the PP site making it look real even when viewing the source code.
