How Much Would You Pay?
I've been searching the indie music sites since last nite looking for original music that I might license for an adult DVD - must have listened to at least 500 artists - MY FUCKING GOD 99% OF THESE PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE THEIR VOCAL CHORDS AND HANDS CUT OFF! Friggin brutal - the more I listen to unsigned bands the more respect I have for the record companies and the artists who do succeed.
Anyway I did find 5 artists who were pretty good. If you were a band struggling to make it without a record deal cranking out your own CD's if some porn dude asked you to license a song for use on a DVD how much do you think you'd accept? $500?

Depending on the band and their financial situation I think $500 would be accepted by some for sure. What kind of music are you looking for, I have friend that has a pretty decent rock bound, sounds like a mix of Incubus and some emo bands if you are interested. I could hit you up with some mp3 samples. ICQ: 36837470.

1. Tell them it will be a good way to promote their band because you will give them exposure in the credits/on the art.
2. Tell them you will give them a few copies of the DVD. 3. Make sure they sign valid contracts, so they can't turn around and sue you if they ever get big. 4. You should not have to pay $500 per song for unknown bands, unless they have an asshole manager who thinks he's a big player. ![]() |

I agree with Mr Fiction, I wouldn't pay an unsigned band unless I had to

that's what worries me - these bands are not losers, just haven't made it big yet - I'm sure they have lawyers and that means they'll want big money and contracts up the wazoo.
I'm looking for teen pop type music a la Avril Lavigne, Greenday/Good Charlotte or Blink 182 type tunes.

This is porn tho - i'm sure if it was some cool independent mainstream movie lots of unsigned bands would give you the music for the exposure and cool factor.
I can't see a decent unsigned band giving permission to use a song for an adult DVD that might sell 2,000 copies. It's just an idea - one of the things that's always bugged me about porn movies is the horrible music tracks. Occassionally these days you do see a porn DVD with decent music - usually it's rap.

Mutt,
Hello my name is Danny and I am the sales director over here at matrixcontent.com I am also the composer for all music behind our Matrix produced female solo videos. I compose mostly Trance, House, and drum and Bass. I supply for music some pretty well known porn stars and video editors. I license my songs very inexpensively and I will make you a deal - if you can buy in volume. I have a catalog of over 200 songs - 10 min. Mega mixes that are perfect for video editing. Please go to our site webmasters enter and open a new account with us and listen to the matrix solo videos. Take a look at Pantera and Jena Haze and please give me a call when I return from Internext booth 145 on Jan eighth. Let me know if you could ever use a good deal on some matrix glamour content and I hope you like my tracks. Thanks mutt. Danny All Matrix Content Inc.
