yeah that one by almighty is a tidy design, super nice shade of blue used...and even tho there's a cityscape, it's not the average run of the mill wingding cityscape..

Wow. Even more wicked logos.
I know how much to offer for future logo contests now. :thumbsup Cheers, Matt |
Some of these logos are killer but they wouldn't degrade well to things like t-shirt printing.
Almighty yours is sweet but looks a bit fuzzy. Galleryseek that last one looks like "District Porn" rather than "Porn District" - I know there's a design factor involved but you also have to design for stupid people to easily grasp and remember. Alien I give credit when it's due - sweet work shown here. Not sure it would degrade to t-shirt design well, though. (So many colors and blending.) The ones that are really clean, like the original green license plate, are best if you're planning on using it with different mediums. Folks, think of things like Tide, Apple, even M$'s flying windows or butterfly (MSN) logos. Clean and simple... less filters, more emphasis on bold, bright, crisp and instant visual memorization. The real test of a good designer is one that can make an eye-catching, impact design without using any filters and special effects. (Not that I can make one, but I sure can recognize it when I see it!) |

I also like how you showed the last one on a different color background (in the thread) so it could be visualized better. Some other folks did this as well - props to all of you :thumbsup |
Muhahahahha!!!
I'm running away with all the designs and paying no one!!! hahahahahha!!!! Seriously, everyone needs to calm down. As soon as a contest ends people are alway saying "what the fuck, who won, where is the person who started the contest, are they stealing them??". We can't possibly pick the winner instantly. It will take some time to pick from all these entries plus it's new year's eve/new year's day. We will announce the winner soon, just calm down and sit tight. |

Im sure if you win you will get and pleasant email/icq.
Some of them are non-printable for sure but I guess it depends if it ever needed to be.. Also any good designer should be able to redo his work into a nice dpi for printing.. |

hey, gogobar, lets hear the finalists at least... |

I think website logos are very different from company logos. Companies need to be branded and their logos need to fit everywhere from letterheads to bottle caps. Websites however need their logos to look good and make their site look good. Someone visiting the site for the first time should look at the logo and have something he'll remember later. This would not be true for a Nike tick sign or a microsoft windows sign. No one would remember a tick sign once he left the site. Ask yourself - which website logos do you remember? The only ones I remember are thehun and thumbzilla (besides the ones I did myself, like Sleazydream and Porn gata.com ). They are colorful and attractive, not simple and in one or two colors like a Nike or Pepsi logo. In my opinion website logos need to be attractive rather than just simple and printable. |
Carrie- You amaze me! I better rethink about you, after all the hard time I have given you! Ya gimme some love! Thanks much, it will not be forgotten.
Printing and such yes my submission is actually a 3D model. They can have a statue made out of it if they wanted! It will print well also with adjustments easily. I like the grey scale look but thats just me! http://www.heretic.biz/porndistrict/images/ag.jpg |

I know I missed this one but I am doing my design another way: I am doing it in Illustrator, sometimes freehand and Photoshop, high rez then save a small and low rez file for the web. Must be the dtp experience.

that is becoming so ordinary and overused that it is no longer unique... which is why i busted out my first logo design... some of you say the globe thing is from 96' lol, well i've been on computers since 97 or so and i don't remember seeing any logos like that, i certainly don't see any today.. and maybe its ..better.. that it has an oldschool feel to it? :) |

I did not enter the contest for lack of skills, I just enjoyed all the GREAT work that was sent; however a lot of people spent time and effort on your contest. (I congratulated you on it on the first page) You bought a day or two of peace from the the board from your nick. YOU set the dead line as of 12-31-03, (not me) six days later, not one post was made by you on request from the posters for even an update. Hey I understand $500 is a lot of money for some, and that is why they don't want to piss you off by writing what I am. It was a good contest at the start. As of today it sucks. (and I don't care if you are in Vagas or not) :( |
