Own.

Don't let anyone tell you it's cheaper than renting though.
People always forget the land taxes, and extras that renters
don't pay. Atleast I've got something to show for my money
though.

Rent until I can save enough money for the 100% down home-buying plan.

We just purchased a new 2700 sq foot home with an in ground pool and spa. Its a lot of room for us but the house allows us to use it as a very large studio/office and nothing beats real estate investment wise!

are you nuts? why wait until you can pay cash? Home interest is a great tax write off for middle income families

you must have just bought then, because my house payments have always been lower than the local rent, except for maybe the first 6 months of my first home. Even then it was pretty close.

4% mortage - I just re financed my home to 70% of assessed value and dumped it into investment funds. the funds are 100% capital guarenteed in 10 years - no risk other the on the interest on the mortage.

nice to get a 4% loan to play the market with.....

Rent is rarely a wise move. I rented in AZ a while back, of course I was not sure how long I would be there, so it was a good choice.

My home has been OWN3D by me since '95. I also own rental property, which I highly recommend getting into. If run correctly it is a great source of ongoing income.

Own.. and all mine in January. Interest write-off doesn't help me enough to bother with a loan any more.

I rent an apartment because in sourthern california if you want to pay a $1300 a month (my rent) mortgage, you're going to be in a shithole house.
