I'm Getting A Vasectomy.

Thats right, I'm getting my plumbing tied. A simple needle in the ball sack and a slice with a sharp knife.....then just hack the tube in half and burn the ends off.

It should be a breeze!

I would ask them to add 2-3 inches, while they are down there.

Nothing wrong with a 9-11inch cock

I thought you said ADD.

A few years ago I thought about it, was single, worried about making some girl pregnant and thought seriously about it. Even went as far as asking about getting it done on the National Health.

Everytime I look at our 22 month old girl I thank myself for not going through with it.

Very easy procedure. Took 15 minutes for the operation and no pain at all. When I came out of the office my wife thought I backed out because I was in there such a short time. Good luck!

That's better than making your woman suffer through surgery and a MUCH longer recovery time!

Absolutely! And with a vasectomy there are almost NEVER any serious complications, but since a tubal ligation (tubes tied) for a woman is abdominal surgery, the risks for infection and even death are higher. Also, vasectomy has a 1% chance of failure while a tubal has about 2%. A vasectomy is done under local anesthesia (safer) while a tubal requires general anesthesia (which has been known to kill people.) Vasectomy requires a 48 hour recovery time while tubal requires a week. Vasectomy also costs much less and requires no hospital stay, whereas tubal requires several hours in the hospital and somtimes a day or two.

Vasectomy is so much easier. Plus, if a man really doesn't want children, if he gets HIS done, then he and his wife/girlfriend split, he doesn't have to worry about making the next girl pregnant. However if he makes the girl do it, not only might she want children with her next boyfriend/husband but his own next girlfriend would also need surgery and so on. That could get expensive if his relationships don't last long.

That said, I may still get a tubal. After all a tubal AND a vasectomy have got to increase the odds of successfully preventing pregnancy.

No, you still ejactulate semen, but there are no sperm in it. Although with some men there are still a few sperm that get through, but usually not enough to facilitate pregnancy.

LOL, yeah, I do, actually.

I'm a nerd in a big way. I love to read nonfiction books. And I've actually researched the subject alot because other methods of preventing pregnancy don't work for me. I've gotten pregnant while on the pill AND the shot at the SAME TIME!

Yes, especially considering what an inhospitible environment the vagina is. The vast majority of sperm die before making it anywhere really, hence the reason MILLIONS are produced with each ejaculation. That many are needed just so that ONE makes it there alive

I agree with you tootie, it really is much better for the man to get a Vasectomy. Unfortunately, most men live under the stupid assumption that if they don't have sperm in their cum, and they can't run around impregnating the planet (whether they do or not) that they aren't really men anymore. It's a big double-standard, so I think any man who actually makes the decision to do it is not only brave, but VERY smart. I've only heard of ONE instance offhand where a vasectomy went wrong, and it had nothing to do with the proceedure. They found a lump near the vas deferens that turned out to be cancerous, and the guy had to have one testicle removed. I've heard of MANY horror stories with tubal ligations, not to mention the recovery time.

Real Easy procedure, took 15 -20 mins, the only thing I didn't care for was the smell of the burning the ends.

Just take it easy for a few days and no worries.

So that was actually a good thing. He wouldn't have known he had cancer if he hadn't gone in for the vasectomy. Good deal.

I had a friend who got a tubal a few years ago and her heart stopped while on the anesthesia. Luckily they brought her back really quickly, but when she found out after she woke up she freaked. That's some scary stuff.

Friend of mine had a tubal that actually failed. She got pregnant again and there were complications because it ended up that they had botched the tubal and not known about it. What a nightmare that was! I am getting a full hysto, but that's for medical reasons.. I think if I didn't have to though, I'd be sending the hubby in for a snip this time around, like it or not :P

I may have to get a hysterectomy, too. I had a baby 4 1/2 months ago and I have a fallen uterus and I've been bleeding almost constantly since then, sometimes heavily. I'm anemic becase of it. I've also had an ovarian cyst (a painful one) for a couple of years and several abnormal PAPs, including one that was moderately dysplastic (the first step before cancer, the nurse said when she called) and that was 6 years ago. But I just can't afford to take time off from work to get this done.

The truth? It's not really so bad. I had my tubes tied on a Monday during an out patient procedure. I was in at 7:30am and home by 10:00am and even cooked an omlet for AMp. I went back to work that same week, on Wednesday.

Granted, everyone's pain tolerances differ and everyone acts different to anestesia. Maybe I just had a good doctor and am a "tough chick". You can't even see the scar from the tiny incision through my belly button.

My sister had that done a while back and was in a hell of a lot of pain.

Yuckie! I'm a hemopheliac, I'm having another c-section (this will be my third section), and I also have endometreosis. The scar tissue worries my doc because it can turn cancerous, and with the chance of me bleeding out he figures it's easier to just take it all than to try to get it to heal (less to cauterize too), especially since I will need a hysto eventually anyways. Sorry to hear about all YOUR trouble! As if having a newborn isn't hard enough, but being continually tired from blood loss makes it worse! I can sympathize! I bled into my abdomen for 8+ months after my last two and I always felt ready to faint. Best of luck if you do get it though! I'm sure you will be relieved, and just think, no more periods!

Some people experience more pain than others like you say tolerances differ. You're pretty lucky! Most of the tubal ligations I've known people have had either trouble or uncomfortable recovery times. Did you actually have the ligation (as in tubes cut and cauterized) or did you have clips?
