CCBILL Fancy Pig Admin? What do you think?
Does anyone else besides me hate the new CCbill affiliate admin? That shit takes forever to load on my computer and it doesn't tell me a damn thing that wasn't in the old admin. It's just a bunch of fancy assed code that is cumbersome and slow as hell. I will not waste 10 minutes trying to check their fucking stats. So if you use ccbill for your pay site then expect your hits from me to go down because I aint going to check your fucking stats, so why send fucking hits?

have you tried loading the report using the HTML option rather than the Java?

I just have to chalk this up to another system that evolves until it is useless. Making changes just to make stats look better is not worth it if everything getts slower. I could check ccbill stats for 5 seperate accounts in the time that it take me to just look at one section on only one account now. There used to be an emphasis on speed when making webpages; it makes since to sacrafice looks and fancy for speed and reliability. Plus I don't even understand this sluggish monster. |

Does seem a lot slower. Using the html version here.
I was hoping there would be a way to view all webmaster referral revenue for a defined period at once, instead of still having to check every site I'm signed up for separately. |

My biggest gripe is that it is clearly NOT production quality software, but the dialog asking if we want to upgrade does not make this clear. The URL for the new system is "affiliate-beta.ccbill.com". If I had known it was beta, I would never have switched. By misleading every single one of your users this way, you have taught us not to trust CCBill - you can bet the next time you want to roll something out that none of us will be first in line... I realize that you guys want to get some real-world feedback, but your users rely upon the stats to make decisions that affect our business. Right now, I am switching sponsors prior to the Google crawl, and I've decided not to add any new CCBill sponsors this month because I am not confident that I will be able to retrieve my stats (or even if the new system will track signups correctly). I found numerous bugs in my stats. Also, it is WAY TOO SLOW. Whoever designed it clearly has no experience designing for the web. I am sure a majority of the people on this board would agree with me that: -IT IS WAY TOO SLOW -NO IMAGES should be an option (faster page loads) -NO FRAMES should be in the UI (so you can get the benefit of Fwd/Back buttons and page caching) -IT IS WAY TOO SLOW -NO JAVA (Java is SLOOOOW; also so I can look at stats from Linux box) -NO "DASHBOARD" page (I want to check my stats - that's why I'm logging in) -IT IS WAY TOO FUCKIN SLOW MAN! And of course there are some things that I would like to see that were missing from the old version: -option to view stats in "Monthly" mode by default (my expenses are monthly - I want to look at my revenue monthly, why does everything default to CCBill pay period?) -ability to export data to Excel |

CCBill will need to listen to the masses. It's a slow application and I don't like it.
What is wrong with well designed plain html reports with minimal graphics and maximum information ? Most people doing business would prefer a highly readable plain html (read graphicless) reporting system than the current new offering. |

Two words...ass chololate
Why fix what wasnt broken? I used to leap to signup for a sponsor if they were using ccbill as their biller, now I will not sign up to promote anyone using ccbill unti they drop their useless bugridden eye candy and give me back a tool I can use. Sales show up one day and then are gone the next. I can no longer see referring urls for one of my main long time sponsors. The app is beyond slow and using java, come on who gave you advice? Oh and when I emailed ccbill pointing out some of these errors and other shit, the reply was a canned piece petrified snot, "don't worry about that stuff it wont affect your sales." ya ok, thanks for coming out, hope to see ya again next year ![]() |

I was disappointed to see the paysite admin had changed. Things are difficult to find and make work. I dread working in your panel. Timeouts are frequent. I cannot find half of the places I need to be. Worse today, I found you have adopted the same "superior" system in your affiliate panel. Before you tell me html/java, we've tried both. I am connected by satellite. Sometimes, I hit 900kbs + I truly feel sorry for the people who have to use dialup to access this work of are. I can say that first hand, because when it's snowing, I have to switch to dialup. That panel cannot be loaded. Shame on you for your "advancements". Any mention of these problems to your techs fall on deaf ears.

I fear the thing will time out before I get what I want to done, and I'll have to start over and not be able to remember where I was. Obviously, ccBill would rather pay labor to hold hands on the phone, than make it where someone can actually use the dam thing. Bad ccBill

the whole user interface isn't put together well.
doesn't matter how much spanking new code you've introduced, or that you're graphics have been overhauled, it's all about the interface & how users interact with it. the new (and old system) fails miserable. ryan |

The new system does have the ability to export data in Excel format As for the other comments about the speed, we are working on it, and will soon release some options to make the reports quicker. Stay tuned

The navigation (finding things) is the worst I've ever seen. I would like to challenge you to go to Montana or Illinois or somewhere far from sitting on top of the server bank and access and operate it from dialup, and see how long you last before you smash your laptop into bits.

We have no intentions whatsoever of using this pig of a process to check our stats. Scrap the new admin. Use the "Kiss" system...."Keep It Simple Stupid". The quality of the admin is based on the number of clicks needed to get the information. It's take dozens of clicks to get almost nothing on this system. We don't care about graphics and java and fancy pop windows. We need stats not slickness that's way too slow. Epoch has the most plain webmaster stats ever and I have never skipped a sponsor using them. But I'm not looking forward to getting a bunch of new ccbill sponsors becuase it will take me two hours to check all the stats. Using java is just a bad idea anyway and it seems like the programer was just trying to show all their skills in a single application which result in "code overload". Be smart...get rid of this admin. It's hurting you more than it is helping. |

Corvett,
I just want to ask you, and I'd like a straight answer to try and understand this. Comparing ccBill to a paysite, and we're basically your members, your clients.. right ? Who in their right mind would release such a thing, without getting feedback for the program? Nearly 100% of your clients hate it, who in the decision making power could ever think this would be a good thing? Did you guys test it and love the way it worked or what? I just can't understand. Not only do advanced mistakes like this hurt your company, but they also affect my bottom line. How do you think it makes sponsors, like myself and many others feel, when potential affiliates say they'll pick epoch or other billing company programs over ccBill programs? I have one of the most amazingly high converting sites alive today. How do you suppose it makes me feel to know that there ARE people who won't promote my program because I use ccBill ? Who in their right mind decided this was a strategically good move? I am by far not a stupid person. I have a decent IQ, and I understand things easily. This thing baffles me. I am really interested in hearing your answer.

What CCBill might want to do is take a poll when first logged into the admin/stats/area. That way they know for sure rather or not people like it or not. They could even have a field for comments.
I don't use CCBill, but if they are using Java Applets, I don't think they thought this through enough. Java Applets load majorly slow for most people. They are just resource hogs. Most people, including myself, just want stats. It doesn't have to look pretty. Just stats to give me the info I need and easy to work with. Like another person mentioned. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.

They rarely answer a question that does not specifically pertain to actual operation. We're forced to take it any way they care to put it out, in all their wisdom. While I don't make the management decisions in our program, I do have influence. If it were my decision.. well .. I don't give a rat about pretty. I want fast and accurate. I have a lot more in my workload than to watch my status bar all day

CCBill's interface needs a way to merge stray accounts into your main one without having to contact them, also needs a way to delete duplicate accounts or sites no longer in operation (or you no longer wish to promote).
They also need to eliminate the use by webmasters of the signup script that doesn't give you the opportunity to merge under an existing account.

Ugh, I thought it was just me who hated it. I liked the simple view of each program, number of clicks, and sales on one single easy to read page. Bring back the old stats. Pretty isn't measured in fancy graphics; pretty is measured in dollar signs.

I love CCBill and I always have. I'm a college educated man with an above average IQ. I hate to say it, but I cannot understand this new interface, nor do I see the benefits of it!
Corvett...I am a loyal CCBill user, and my new program will be using CCBill, but this change scares me. Possible affiliates will shy away from using my program because of this interface. It's very slow (I am using the html version), it's way too complicated and I think 99.9% of people were perfectly happy with the old layout. A stat program shouldn't be about design...It's about the $$. If we can't read the stats, why would we use the program? Can we please get the old stat page back? ![]() |

I don't like the old stats but at least it was tolerable. Everyone should take some of the points from clickcash on stats. By far the best fucking layouts on stats ever (and it's a plain page with tables).

Please CCBill, don't ever force users to convert to this new pile of dogs turd. I've seen worse interfaces and worse designs, but never actually kept as working software for any period of time.
Problems: Slowwwwww. Resource hungry. Unintuitive. Just plain crap. Sorry.

I will give credit where credit is due - the changes CCBill has made are a HUGE improvement. Assuming the numbers are totaling correctly now, I would actually rate this revised layout (Low-Resolution, No Java option) as superior to the one they have been using for the past couple years. I especially like the report drill down by sub-account. Great job CCBill! |

Don't want to bump an older thread but I just switched over to the new admin without doing a search on GFY for other users opinions and it sucks balls. I see no improvement, its slower, ugly as hell, and just PLAIN SLOW!
Beyond that I can't go back to my original interace |
