Canadians and adult processing. Whats the deal?

Whats the scoop with Canadians and adult processing. Has there been any changes since we were BANNED? Is a US or UK presence still required, will this ban ever be lifted?

thx

Not sure on the date..Nov 2002, Visa and MC stopped processing adult site for Canadian biz owners. Since then a US or UK presence is required.

What I wanna know is, has there been any changes since?

Canadians are banned from processing Visa or obtaining contracts in Iraq.

Canada was not "banned" per se. What occured was that all of the canadian banks that had been formerly processing high-risk decided that they would no longer underwrite high-risk adult merchant accounts. (so much for the "liberal" Canadian views!).

Because of the Visa regulations regarding cross-border acquiring, this meant that in order to be underwritten, adult merchants in Canada need to incorporate in a Visa region that still processes adult....the US, EU, Carribean and South American, Asia, etc...

It was up to the Canadian acquiring banks to come to this decision and it will be up to them to change it.

...and I don't see that happening anytime soon, but then again, when it comes to banks, you never know.

You can barter for one at any Hudson's Bay Company station. I think the going rate is around 50 beaver pelts.
