Man swallows keys in divorce row

A newly divorced man has been told to undergo surgery or risk dying after swallowing his house keys in a row with his ex-wife over who should get the marital home.

Eugen Groza, from Sibiu, Romania, swallowed the keys after putting special security locks on the doors that can only be opened or changed with the original keys.

The 32-year-old was taken to hospital, but refused to allow doctors to operate on him, local media reports.

Neither Mr Groza nor his wife can get into the house now, despite a court ruling that she is entitled to the property.

A court spokesman said they had served a court order on Groza to make him hand over the keys, but were not sure how to enforce it.

Doctors who X-rayed the Mr Groza say unless they operate, he risks dying.
