$2500 Logo

Quote:
Logo design starts at $2500.00 USD each and goes up depending on specifics. (projected time for research, illustration if any, etc.) The terms are 50% down payment, under signed project agreement. Turnaround is three to four weeks, typically. We accept payment domestically by check, money order or PayPal. For orders outside the USA we accept international money order or PayPal.

If you have any further questions don?t hesitate to ask.

Thanks.
Thats mainstream prices btw

funny = watching people that are used to paying romanians and college kids beer money for sites heckling corporate professionals, that not only have more resources they have to pay for to ensure a top notch product, but aren't sitting in their parents basement, and are held financially liable when their work isn't produced on time and don't have cracked copies of software.

how much do you think McDonalds paid for their logo? Starbucks, KFC?

Shit, you're lucky to get it for that price! Usually a logo will get you a $5k price tag easy.

Too many pornmeister's have no clue about mainstream business and 'why' prices for things like logos are established as such.

Some of you I've worked with over the years already know because you've worked in the real corporate world and know the value of brand name recognition.

That's why I bypass those pitiful $200 logo contests on this board. I only do a logo for that price if the webmaster has something else to offer. I would trade for computer parts etc. because alot of webmasters don't have the starting capital.

When you buy a logo from someone that freakin' cheap in the few hundred dollar range you're just asking for trouble down the line. Usually comes as a lawsuit from someone who's got an already established logo/trademark that your cheapie knocks off.

Then you're in BIG trouble.

The longer a graphics artist has been in business without a successful lawsuit against them, the safer you are and worth the money and time.

That's why for me to forego a cost and take a loss, the client has got to have something in exchange worthy of it like major guaranteed traffic, equipment or some other service.

Corporate image consultants can charge up to 50K USD just for a name and a logo. Of course, they have to pretty it up and baffle the suits with bullshit by doing all sorts of focus group and related research.

The real question though is how many designers clicked on this thread link thinking Christmas had come early this year

Charge someone $50k and just put three letters together for their company logo, maybe some lines through it, give it some colour.. and voila..

Cheers,
Matt

I know trust me.
Middle tier prices are in the range specified in the first post, 2-5k for a logo is aimed at medium sized businesses, - a small design company - you'll get a few binders worth of documentation - guidelines and rules for use, mocked examples on pens on buses etc.
Signwriters and low tier designers (ie adult) accomodate the $100 - $800 range - they basically come up with one or two different logos and you choose one, thats it.
And yes as I alluded to earlier corporations routinely pay tens of thousands for a "logo" but as you say at that level you're called an "image consultant", and every aspect of their logo is subjected to rigorous testing and they end up spending around half of that sum and mostly a lot more in employee wage time - creative directors, designers, project managers, producers, focus groups, multimedia presentations, and reams of documentation.

That's actually cheap for corporate logos and names. The companies behind Lexus, Acura, etc. spent MILLIONS developing just the names and the logos.

There is a 300-500% + profit margin.. compared to 5-10% in adult.

Yep thats the detriment/benefit of an anonymous international forum like this, In mainstream you don't compete with college kids and romanians because they're not even on the radar, let alone competition. And it's a lot harder to make out like you're more than you are (ie sitting in your parent's basement).
Nor do you have to worry about exchange rates. Everyone working outside the US that played the price cutting game over the last year or so is really feeling it now the US dollar is plunging.

Preach on! Reason corporate designs cost so much is protection. Look at Dreamworks SKG. Originally called 'Dreamworks' but someone forgot to search the trademark/copyright database and realize somebody else already was operating under that name. Cost em' for it too.

The list goes on and on. When you pay me to design something or come up with a comic book character/story etc. you're not just paying me for time of pencil on paper but decades of experience and hard put college money etc. And believe you me I charge low compared to what I should be but them days are going fast.

I run into at least twice a week big time webmasters who make high 6 figures and 7 figures and boast about what they can do this or that but don't want to pay a decent price. It is inevitable that I'll check back with them in a year or two and they're dick broke. Why? Because they're trying to get something for nothing.
