Revenue Sharing %

Lets say the membership for a sponsors site is $20. What sharing percentage do you consider acceptable for a sponsor to pay a webmaster? 30%, 50%, 60%???

Do you have a standard that you wont go below

I'm assuming for adult sites here, 50% minimum for me. Sponsor bears cost of processing fees, otherwise it goes up to 60% minimum. Might seem high for some, but its keeping in respect with the competition out there now.

i need at least 50% BEFORE the billing company takes thier cut.

i cant wait untill all the programs realize hwo easy a merchant account really is to get. and they start saving the 10-20% that ccbill/epoch/etc are raping them for.

yeah, but then they have to hire a dozen people or more for customer service... which puts them right back about where they were before

as for %.. a $20 a month site at 50% better retain like no site ive seen before... or i'd rather go push a $34.95 site that pays me 50%+

That's a good point.. both customer service and fraud monitoring would be huge issues.

Really gotta take into consideration what you think the site is gonna do retention-wise.

If you think you can hold a member for 2 months @ $20, I'd take a 50% payout over $10/join (duh), but not over $20/join (all things equal, I'd take even money up-front). It's just math and experimentation.

Of course, FlyntDigital revshare %s and payouts are *way* higher than that...

It all depends. There are to many variables to set an absolute revshare percentage as being acceptable or not acceptable. For example: Say you have 2 sponsors that have a membership fee of $20.00. Sponsor "A" is paying out 75% and converting at 1:2500. Sponsor "B" is paying out 50% and converting at 1:500 on the same traffic. Pretty easy to see which is the better deal for the webmaster.

80%

Well, honestly, on a $20 join you better pay out at least $16 to make it worth anyone's time. Only a hot amateur girl can get away with $10 recurring payouts in my opinion.

this also depends on the size of the sites that are being ran.

if your pushing less then 100 joins a day. it really isnt a huge issue. plus there are a number of companies you can outsource your CS to that work on a per issue basis.

fraud scrubbing is quite cheap and can be done through your merchant bank or gateway. and usually comes with some pretty intuitive features to go along that give you a lot of control and flexibilty in your scrubbing as well.

the 1% rule doesnt apply if your running your own merchant and have the right numbers.

There is more to it than just retention to evaluate.

Number of joins for starters.
