Isn't that German traffic just burning your bandwidth anyway or are you redirecting them to a dialer?
|
Fuck them....who gives a shit what they think......but I would not go to germany if I were you.
|
I wouldn't take this letter lightly if I were you SleazyDream. I'm sure you wouldn't want to have a arrest warrant on your head from a foreign country! You should assess how important your German traffic is to you. If it is not worth shit, you should simply redirect it to one of the maintream sites you own.

Nobody should be worried about going to Germany just because of this kind of letter. To be arrested there has to be a trial first. And what do you think will be the laughter in the world, if a german judge comes up with an arrest warrant for a foreign citizen for publishing porn in a foreign country?
BUT... You should get to know what's behind all this. Some time ago a young guy was fired from his school and left with no degree at all. He then went to the school and killed some teachers. Authorities later told the public that he had played violent computer games. Politiciens jumped on the bandwaggon and created a new law to protect the youth better. And now these people try to crank down the german porn industry, because this crazy guy shot his teachers. Think about it and tell me, if you can find any connection between shooting teachers and porn ... Another department of the german government conducted a study and found that porn does not harm the youth in any way. So ... As another poster already has said. The new law requires porn customers to verify they are of legal age. This has to be done face-to-face. |

HAHA.. welcome to the porn world Sleazy. We got two of those letters and it's from some sort of commission that they've formed for the welfare of child and family. The funny thing is the part of our site that they pointed out was our free content in our webmasters area. So, someone had to signup to access it to even see it. Got the first letter several months ago and the second about a month ago. So far we're just ignoring them since we are not under German law nor are our servers housed in Germany. There isn't much they can legally do to us.

If your not in Germany, why do you care????
German law does not cover Canada does it???? |
Sleazydream,
send an email to [email protected] and a fax to 0049-40-3007-2247 "Redaktion, Der Spiegel", and tell them about this, a tiny german agency trying to rule the world with german tax money. Mention the costs and that many others are getting those letters too. People are almost over the edge due to tax waste and I am almost willing to bet that they will print a few lines about this issue. They like little stories like this. I even remember them printing a hardcore URL not too long ago. If they do this that should bring you 100,000 visitors for sure. Spiegel is the biggest news magazine in europe with 6 mio. or so readers --- I am almost certain that the departments of youth (not justice) of the single german states (not the federal department) which fund this agency does not even know that these 1,2 or 3 people are actually using their funds to send letters and whatnot to non-germans in non-germany. I bet they'd be in trouble if the higher ups find out. They definitely will if the "Spiegel" writes about it. |
now I remember, that other article was about voyeurweb and they wrote "voyeurweb.com"
|
I got one of those letters that i was added to the index sounds about the same thing as yours sent to me certified mail and it was in german a few years ago i did nothing. Funny thing is it was a domain that was hardly ever used out of the 100 domains i have owned over the years tat is the only domain i ever got a letter for.
Imagine the cost if all the domains i own got thier own letter :) |
Heh heh, German hate mail. I envy you Sleazy. Hopefully one day i will have sites that piss off many different governments too.
|
Simepl solutions? Geo block germany, and send them to the most expensive and persistant dialer and console fuckdom you can find. Put up a big notice that says "Because the German Government had their heads up their collective asses, I have been forced to make you suffer. Vote the assholes out".
That should work just fine. Alex |
Dear Adolph,
Censorship worked very well in the 1930's and 1940's. I am surprised to see that your government has returned to this policy so quickly after losing the war and having to had your food airlifted in by America to avoid starvation. I understand your concerns with my website, which has nothing to do with your beautiful country. However, there comes a time where you have to look at the world and realize that your country cannot rule it. I notice that you have on several occasions tried and failed. I would recommend you read whatever history books you have remaining that are not censored and take notes. And by the way, I find your German Sheise videos and the traditions behind them offensive. But I understand that they are part of your culture and I invite you to have a splendid evening of dining upon the feces of your spouses. Sincerely, The guy who's grandfather helped overthrough your last censoring leader |

look, if the site in question is sleazydream.com it does not seem to be listed with ICRA.
ALL responsible adult webmaster should have their sites listed with ICRA. it is the right thing to do, it is fast, easy, and fucking FREE. it is effective. all anyone has to do is set filitering on their browser and sleazydream.com will not show up when they surf. all this other talk is mostly bullshit. be proactive about making it difficult for kids to get on your sites. |
dude that's insane, whatever they can't touch you

There is too many replies so I didn't read them all.
Just respond to them that if they put your name in that index you will sue them for copyright infrigment/trademark violation unless they are paying royaltee fees for using your name to promote their index :thumbsup Probably won't work but I would like to see them in the head when they read that :Graucho |

Yeah, I would definitely proceed extremely cautiously and see if there is a way to avoid acrimony with these folks. A good internet/international attorney consultation first would be a brilliant move. Best of luck buddy! Is anyone going to Amsterdam or any of the upcoming Euroshows? I'm going to start a thread to help everyone get a better feel for which show is best to invest in attending :winkwink: xoxo Leslie |
Sleazy, I have about 60 of those letters. For some reason they think their law is above our own local laws that we DO abide by
