I'm as true blue American as they come but because I was raised in such an Italian atmoshpere AND visit there so often I am proud of my Italian heritage.

Same for me - just that here for me is Canada :-)

Hubby is from (born & raised) in Italy.

That's very nice.

I've been chatting online with an American guy who lamented that he'd never learnt Italian although his family is of Italian ancestry. Maybe part of the reason was that his parents had divorced. Anyway, he really wanted to learn Italian which is not all that easy later in life.

Exactly. Armenia also has its own unique alphabet and was a regional power that competed with the eastern end of the Roman empire. Tigran The Great. Very long and distinguished history.

What the fuck are you talking about? This thread is about nationality, and yours is American. I am Czech. I don't care where you live, or where I live.

You are not irish or german.

Nah, I grew up in Los Angeles. I had Armenian friends and neighbors. I try to know my neighbors. In the block I grew up in there were Laotians, Armenians, Koreans, Israelis, Mexicans, etc. But we are all Americans.
