Its more than likely true. Handspring phone/PDAs are exactly the same. You pay out $699.00 for a 270 treo and after 18 months the battery will no longer hold a charge so when you call customer support you get the same crap. Send in your old phone and Handspring will ( repair it , their words ) it for $200 + $25 mail costs. Yet another rip off.
