That is pretty funny indeed. On a more serious note, something tells me the Dow hitting 10k and the economy growing a record 8% might be related to more than just pure luck....

the DOW is nothingh to brag about. Has been much higher and a bit lower...
The 8% growth IS impressive, buit you need 3 quarters to be able to evaluate if it is a steady situation or just a " spike"... Same goes for when it goes at - 8%...

Future will say, but one thing for sure, next generation will have to cough up for the record deficits...

The economy could be growing at 16% and AssCraft and company would still be PERSECUTING the porn industry and making it their personal religious pilgrimage to put YOU out of business.

YES I'M TALKING TO YOU.

THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IS TRYING TO PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS.

Now do something about it.

Of course if you don't look at the debt and you only look at the economy growing then there's no problem. While at it, why not remove all taxes? If the rising debt doesn't matter, I can assure you that every country will be removing all of there taxes in order for there economy to grow to unprecedented levels.

when they calculate the economy growth in terms of dollars, do they take into account how much value the american money lost.

exports might have increased, since Euro from outside can buy more American products now. but is this any good for the long run? what if inflation hits the economy big time?

Lets see, the 2 largest oil companies in the US had their largest profits ever last quarter. Ya think maybe that might have helped with the 8% growth. Our kids are dying so Bush and his oil buddies have a good bottom line. Bush

Yeah, I'm sure we spent $150 billion to save a few cents at the gas pump.

Let's see those numbers, though, I want to see how two companies accounted for 8% growth. Hell, let's see how they accounted for 1% growth. C'mon.

The spike was caused by 3 factors-
The 1 time tax rebate checks-
Home buying and refinancing due to low interest rates-
Record military spending-
So far, in the 11 quarters that this administration has been in charge, their record for normal or better growth is 1-10.
If they can maintain the growth thru the second quarter of 2004,
then Bush will be hard to beat.
If not, he might be a 1 termer like his father.
