Beating The Popup Blockers !!

I have 3 methods, the third one is the one i'm interested in doing a bit more thinking about , as it could be a great popup tool.

Turn on your popup blockers and try these 3.

These are totally safe links.

<center><b>POPUP ON ENTER<br>

http://s89164764.onlinehome.us/gfypop1.html

<center><b>POPUP ON EXIT<br>

http://s89164764.onlinehome.us/gfypop2.html

<center><b>1 UN-CLOSABLE POPUP APPLET AD<br>
<i></b>In this demo you can close the popup by clicking back to the main window and pressing a keystroke in the window and it will close, but dont close the window without first closing the popup , or it will stay around.</i>

http://s89164764.onlinehome.us/test/

Im interested in the success rate.

Its been tested on the yahoo and google popup blockers and it gets around both those on xp and latest i.e.

what's the point?
if someone purposely chooses to block popups, they're sure as hell not going to buy something from a popup if it gets around their software.

however ultimately i agree with you. whats the point because if you get around current popup blockers, they will just fix the exploit in future versions...creating a never ending battle that can't possibly be worth the trouble.

Nice... those work.

Hey - you know what? The internet has commercials. They are "popups". To help PAY for the shit they are looking at for FREE they should be FORCED to look at a popup every once in awhile.

Not popup hell, but "intersticials".

When I get a popup I don't freak out... when I get a spam I don't lose all control and go nuts. I close it. I press delete.

Everyone is capable of this.

All very good points , i'm not saying that they wont be picked up soon , but they work now, and if your popping even 1 popunder on your main page on lots of traffic , i guarantee it means more $$$. You can take out the code after , but There are lots of people using popups and popunders right now and making money. So you cant tell me popups dont pay, but i do understand your point.

Yes and those I completely disagree with. What some people did... chains and impossible closes - that is SO wrong. It fucked it up for everyone.

However I think a single popup on a 24 hour cookie is PERFECTLY acceptable.

1. with google tool bar 2 et al and now IE about to bring out out popup blockers it's not just a small percentage of people with proprietry anti popup software, not just a rabid anti-popup customer base.

2. I would gladly pay to be on the only pop-up even a popup hater sees all day or all week. Hell fucking yeah. No competition. If i could magically wish for it, I would make sure no one else wanted to be there either. consoles make money. it's as simple as that.

i don't doubt that popups make money. i use them on my sites. and i don't use a popup blocker. but if i installed/purchased a popup blocker, went to a website, and still got a popup, i wouldn't be happy. i definetly wouldn't buy something from the popup.

If you have quality sites that are well designed , you dont have/need popups as you can really have time to lavish tme in rich graphics and quality porn/content. But there are lots of tgp's and such with popups right now , infact most adult sites do ( well ill just take a jab at that one ). But i run alot of traffic thru non-adult sites as well and PEOPLE BUY OFF POPUPS ! after adding those versions of popups recently the traffic on the popup banners was up all across the board.

Popunders arent intrusive , and as long as you dont string them along for too long, they are easily closed. I dont even use my popup blocker unless im reviewing galleries/sites.

But some companies take it way too far like offshoreclicks.com that send's the surfer thru like 50 popups.

Wegcash goes a little too far on theirs too. So does pornkings.

well its a neat concept but the google popup blocker still blocks it if you use relaod or the back button

the only time it isnt blocked is if you close the window

Your right but so is he. The fact is popups and ads will never end and anyone who buys a popup blocker should be complaining to the company not to the site they are visiting.

Lets say for example i run a large font site that gives away free fonts that i have created, Lets say i spend "X" hours a day creating really nice fonts, and i run a small ad on my webpage, but soon im not making so much money and im getting alot of people using and making money off my fonts. So lets say i put a popunder on my download page , and the user gets the free font and i can make a living off my work. Now should i work for free ? I cant do that. Should i close down my site because i cant pay the bills or add that popunder that keeps mr traffic the same , but the money is still coming in ?

I understand your position , your saying if they spent time and money on a blocker and finding a good site why are they getting popups.

Im saying , if you dont like the site then dont come back, that my opinion.

I dont like some sites because of big flash overlays that cover the content, but that doesnt mean i hate flash overlays or that i hate ads. Everyone has to make a living.

I could make it work either way i just used those as basic examples. close window on open and he applet version ( thats the one i think could be very usefull as it gets around all popup blockers. )

It works on google toolbar blocker on all 3.

got one that just works like a normal java exit window?

pop up if they leave the page either by closing the window or using the back button? and have links with like onclick="exit=false" so that leaving the page by a link WONT trigger the popup?

Im not sure what your asking , i just downloaded the google toolbar on a fresh i.e. update, It works on all the links i posted

The first one pops up a window as the page loads.

The second one pops up a window as the page closes.

Leaving the page wont trigger a popup ( on the second example ), but you could make it do that if you edit the code. I didnt do that because it was only an example of a blank page.

The third example is an applet window popup , and it seems to work with any popup blockers. But the problem is i dont know much about writing applets , and when you click a link in an applet window the google toolbar seems to treat that as a popup ?

I said dont close the main window before you close the applet window, You have to go back to the page that triggered the popup and click inside the applet and press a key on your keyboard and it will close the popup

Ok do this

copy your url
open a new window, go to any page
then paste your url into the addy window and go to your page with the exit code
now click back to go to the first page
google popup blocker blocks your code

but if you close the window instead of clicking back, the popup works

You wouldn't buy something from the popup, I wouldn't buy anymore shit from the fools that sold me the popup blocker.

I dont really see the difference in those than popups other than they dont open new windows.

Flash overlays are much more effective than dhtml popups.

I have tried the gambit.

Its funny that you said that because i bet the very first person to buy something off the popup would be the same fool that bought the popup blocker. I mean seriously, who PAID for a popup blocker. LOL

BTW i found the wickedest flaw in GFY yet today I bet if someone unleashed it , it could cripple a board.

If anyone runs the same version of this board. You should get me to contact you.

guess you did not read the text on the page . . . this is a sliding ads generator and can use with static, animated, flash, movie, audio files and more.

No, No that would be cruel and would never make you any money , But what you would do is make a button on the page that loads the applet popup window and it would say , to close the popup ad "click here" , Or "im not interested"

They mean the flash is dhtml driven, the audio and movie parts , just mean flash in general, so basically , you either are making dhtml popups OR flash overlays. Since we already know how to do both of those, we would do one or the other.

But regardless of what it does , its basically the same as popups or flash overlays. Thats what my point was.

How do you put your page in the applet one?

First one got by PopupStopper, other two didn't.
With popupstopper turned off, 1 and 2 worked but three still didn't as I have my java APPLET disabled. I just don't think it would be worth anything to me...
