Ya, cause we all know the surfers that are quick to pay for stuff online ALL disable their java applets.

The popup window is an applet , so you would hae to hardcode the applet with what you want on it.

The original applet that loads the popup applet is where you would place the button or whatever you want to disable the popup window.

Im not very experienced with applets, so i would need some tutorials to make a good example fully done.

Its a pain in the neck to be switching browsers to use the web properly. Dont get me wrong im not saying you cant , but you cant have the experience my surfers have.

Regardless the point is about popups , and currently i see about 10-15% of my surfers seems to be using them but i prob have less than .1% of surfers using your setup.

Good to know , i'll have to try that one out and find a way around it.

The third needs applets enabled or it just wont work, but most people have them enabled, those that dont prob are smart enough not to spend money online

Code:
eval('window.open(
Could be improved by:

Code:
eval('wi' + 'ndo' + 'w.op' + 'en(
Chances are that when MS builds the popup blocker into the next
version of IE it will probably be part of the hahahahahahahahahaha engine, so
that once disabled the window.open method will be completely
disabled on a low level. In the end no matter how your hiding the
code it will never stop the code from being what it is (a call to
window.open). As soon as window.open is called I'm sure the
new IE will know all about it no matter how it was hidden.

You could always use one of the many unpatched IE security
holes or one of the many new ones that will come with the new
version to modify their registry and change their options. Wonder
when MS will get around to patching IE.

I dont think that "modifying" peoples computers is a very good idea. But they def need some work done to fix holes.

I def done think the days of popups will be over anytime soon. disabling window.open will cause alot of good uses of the code to be put to waste, unless the have something new , and if they do , chances are it will be poor and undercoded and have dozens more flaws

Not suggesting anyone hack.... Just saying ppl will find ways.

Yeah there are a lot of sites using window.open for legit
purposes.

I'd have to guess that they'll have a button, maybe something
like how they did cookie privacy. Although that is a bit hard to find
for a newbie.

Maybe if you click a link twice they'll prompt you or something....
Or have a popup that asks you to add the site to a trust list
something like how activex firewalls work.

I can't imagine them doing it the same way most of these others
work, where the code has to be analised and changed. That just
seems like a burden on CPU for every single page downloaded,
when it would be better to only have the CPU work when there is
an actual popup. I'm thinking they'll include it as a prompt,
toolbar or statusbar feature rather than an afterthought HTML
scanner.

Not really since they prob bought the popup blocker off of a popup, nobody wants popups. If you had a survay that asked 1000 internet surfers. Would you ever buy something off of a popup ? or even better Do you like advertising popups ? They would all answer no * i would lay vegas odds on that sort of bet but i think we can all agree . The pay , They buy

Traffic up Cash up. ?

Incorrect.
If your'e taking free content from a site and blocking the ads they use to pay for their internet presence, you're being an ass.
The end game that you glorified surfers don't see is the end of the most lucrative for of advertising on the net.

What happends when instead of a site making 2.00 cpm on a site they make .10cpm?
answer: they go away.
what happends when the adult site paying you 40.00 a sale loses 40% of their profits?
answer: you put the paper hat back on and thank your lucky stars you like the smell of french fries.

Assclowns who think popup blockers are good are either surfers or too dumb to be in this biz in the first place.

which one are you?

My guess is they'll create a white list where microsoft ads show but no one else's will.

I'm looking into putting an end to popup blockers.
stay tuned.

I never claimed they were "un stoppable popups" if you had actually read the thread , you would notice i explained all of this.

This is for 99% of people not made for %1 of people.

I dont see anyone else using them i see popups being blocked left and right on all the big sponsors and my 3 work

Same here. THe java applet is a pain in the ass, and I'm sure to piss people off more than anything. What if you accidentally end up at a porn site and then can't close the popup it gives you?? You will never go back to that site. EVER.

I could put a download link but it wont help. Because the popup applet needs to be hardcoded for what you plan on putting inside of it . ( like the actual ad )

Right on!

Turn on your popup blockers and try these 3.

These are totally safe links.

<center><b>POPUP ON EXIT<br>

<center><b>1 UN-CLOSABLE POPUP APPLET AD<br>
<i></b>In this demo you can close the popup by clicking back to the main window and pressing a keystroke in the window and it will close, but dont close the window without first closing the popup , or it will stay around.</i>

Im interested in the success rate.

Its been tested on the yahoo and google popup blockers and it gets around both those on xp and latest i.e.

Elli, there's nothing I ever have to assume about in this business.

Smokey..the first one worked, although I use Pop-up Stopper. The second one didn't for me, and I didn't try the third.

Is there a command you can add to the first one to make the window Popunder, instead of in front?

I just discovered a potential problem with the first variation. The window pops up....beats my popup stopper. But, when I click on any of the links in the Popup window, they no longer work.

Any way around this?

I have Google toolbar with popup blocker. and they all popped for me. I love to have that script ;-))

Soon the new xp has a build in popup blocker the youth growing up with those new Operation Systems will grow up never seeing a popup. Until they see Smokeys and than it will be so kewl to be only one in a few who has popups

So how about that exit popup script ;-))

that last one is interesting except that it closes if you close the main window.

build me an applet window that is independent from the opener and i'll buy it from you.

What? Man I flip out every time I even see a popup or even spam! I have high blood pressure and some day I'm just going to burst! Maybe I'll start doing some yoga.
