Well, with the supermarket wars going on right now, things are becoming a bit less expensive. Ofcourse, that'll only last until 20% or so of them go out of business, and then they'll all double prices again

Whats the difference. Buy 3 beers at a bar thursday evening and the 6 bucks you saved on groceries are gone already.

Same thing when I visited Italy this past summer. Apparently, after the Euro was introduced, prices shot through the roof.

I agree. The introduction of the Euro sucks bigtime. Prices doubled and they keep denying it.
However, the dollar being in such a freefall has not much to do with the Euro. Canadians, Australians, everyone has problems because of the dollar dropping in value.
It's not the Euro that goes up, it's the dollar that goes down.

Not only the Euro, we Canadians are buzzing out as well. I was getting some paperwork done yest, I had some months last year where I was getting $1.53 Can for every $1 US. Today im getting $1.29. Thats a 24% loss.

Problem is that you don't know when and if that will happen. It's quite possible that the dollar drops even further, then stays there for 10 years or something.

If it does drop further, it wont stay there. I predict it will rise again to normal levels soon. Its a great idea to have a US account for this very reason.
