ATTN: Bush Haters.... What do you have to say to this?

"The U.S. economy grew in the third quarter at an even faster pace than originally reported, the government said Tuesday. "

"Consumers got a boost in the late summer and early fall from child tax credit rebate checks "

I'm sure it was Bush that turned it around while on vacation at his Texas ranch.

That it is true, if you pay enough people off (i.e. child tax credits and lower their taxes) that you can probably get re-elected despite the fact that you started a war based on a lie and then try to cover it up by saying an evil dictator is out of the picture despite the fact that there are many worse that Saddam all over the place in Africa.

I could go on, but does it matter?

The economy is growing just as fast as the deficit ... this is going to bite us ALL in the ass sooner than later.

Wow, what a fucking superstar, he's doing a great job now.

Talk to me when he gets you out of dept.

Do you understand that like 50% of your taxes goes to paying interest on Bush's fucking deficit? Good luck with that.

We still aren't where we were though, not to mention that the Gov. is still reporting the largest Federal deficit in the nation's history.

These are temporary numbers, no one is getting these child tax credits every quarter.

And even then, we don't have the money to pay for them, in the end we get a little change back once, but as a country we sink further into the red.

"economy grew" is just a very positive way of saying it's not as horribly bad as it was last quarter.

Now it's just mildly horribly bad.

Yah, and Bush had daddy get him a sweet gig in the National Guard, then he goes AWOL and no one has record of him for a year.

Sounds like he was having some fun with that old cocaine habit on our tax dollars.

Edited to mention:

Dean showed up for his draft hearing and was rejected by the military doctor because of his back.

Had a war to pay for you know. One that was at one point costing us $4 billlion (with a B) a day.

What kills me is we vote in $87 billion a year to help rebuild Iraq like it was nothing but we have to fight like the dickens to get a $4 billion a year medicare updated plan in place, one that pays for presciptions for seniors.

I don't get it.

A landslide like what Bush had against Gore. I mean, Gore wasn't all that great and he even won the popular vote, but good luck with that landslide this time around. I am sure Bush can win the popular vote this time. He just has to have positive thoughts like the the little train that could (can).

When something is so low statistically as the U.S. economy was/is, you almost have no where to go but UP!

However, even in this case, the government acknowledges this was a one time spike from people spending their rebate checks.

Now what? What will continue to keep the economy going up?
Better yet, WHEN will jobs finally start showing up in enough numbers to replace the 3 millions jobs that have been lost since Bush became President?

Here's a crazy thought; maybe the economy and its ups and downs are significantly more complicated than people generally think, and there are a myriad of variables that have nothing to do with policies of the administration in power at any given time, be that administration Democrat or Republican. Do you suppose it's possible - just possible - that there are a wide range of factors that are beyond the control of anyone in any position within the government (for instance natural disasters, significant acts of terrorism, fiscal realities we have no real influence over within the economies of our major trading partners - just to name a few), and therfore one cannot easily assess blame or give credit to a given President/administration when the economy takes an up or down turn?

I'm not saying that the policies of a sitting administration have no effect, or that there aren't better plans and worse ones, just that this whole mess *might* be more complicated than "conservative good/liberal bad" or vice versa.

It's food for thought, anyway....

And is there a reason why you continually relate Pets.com to Clinton?

If you vote for bush this next time around, you are voting your self out of a job.

Bush has the chrisitan colation backing him with big chunks of money. And they want porn gone. So, he will try to get rid of it. Only the strong will survive.

And if you think you are stong in this business you had better have a money reserve to put up. Because it will cost you every dime!!!

Down with bush... Shave that damn thing!!!

One thing Bush does is playing a money trick with the taxes. One of the others he does is raising up Trade Barriers with foreign countries like EU and China and all others he has never heard of. In the short run this will boost your local economy, in the long run it will hit your economy hard. Sorry I don't have time to explain this further. Ask anyone who has studied some economics and he or she will tell you that I'm right.

Good luck all

Just like every pre election year... things always get better. It's all a smoke screen to gain votes for the 2004 election... If he is elected again, it will go down again... Remember, he needs to make up for all the lies and broken promises made to go to war.

Yeah, right. It's amazing how people delude themselves into thinking things would be any different under the Dems. The Clinton administration attempted to limit online porn much more aggressively (CODA I & II). The current administration has only gone after extreme porn to this point, and I seriously doubt Bush is going to try to "get rid" of porn altogether.

With me it's not so much about the war or economy... it's the new laws that allow these new government agencies free reign to do what they want.

We are seriously becoming a communistic state with this patriot act and the homeland security. Slowly, but surely.

And is there a reason why you continually relate Pets.com to Clinton?

Do you think Clinton was thinking about towel heads when monica was sniffing cigars?

And who said I was a bush lover? ;)

C'mon now Q! You know that you can only post on this board if you are either hard left-wing or hard right-wing! (actually, if you are moderate and consider all sides logically then the hard left will call you a fanatic right-winger.....so I guess it doesn't matter!_

That's useless propaganda. People are still losing jobs, US$ is getting weaker and the world hates us and many of our allies are threatening economic war. Something has to change soon!
