Complaint about ccbill

I think..

First of all, their support today was top notch...5 mins waiting time per email.

Anyway, i try to keep it short.
Found an old webmaster account that i didnt use for a long time.
Today i logged in and noticed they sent about (i think, not confirmed yet) 12 checks to my old home address.
12 x 50...ok my bad, i never changed the address cause i thought that account wasnt making money anymore.
So after talking to customer support today theyre gonna re issue the checks...once again, the support was great.
Now 1 thing that bugs me tho is that theyre gonna charge 20 friggin dollars per non cashed check.
So we're talking about $200+ to merge the money into 1 check and send it out.
All the checks are expired anyway since the last one was sent months ago.

Honestly, i think this is crazy.

Any opinions on this?

Their bank is going to charge them. (Ever dealt with a corporate account?), and you admit that it's your screw up in the first place and now they are doing YOU the favor of fixing YOUR mistake and you're complaining because they don't want to pay for it?

I don't know whether to

It is the cost of doing business with the bank. Good to hear that they are paying you and even if it was an old account - they are still honorable and helping you out.

Oh please spermbong dude, find something else to bitch about.
Yes they helped me...i think i already mentioned twice that the support is great.
And if indeed they get charged 20 bucks per cancelled check then ok, i understand it now.

Hey spermbonzo, fuck off kid.

Hey spermbonzo, fuck off kid.
I appreciate the sentiment, but you asked for an opinion. I wasn't bitching, I was surprised by the title of your post.

(and just FYI, I'm 40 years old and I've been involved in the processing, gateway, banking, audiotext, etc... end of the adult business for years....hardly a kid. Hell, we have probably seen each other at shows, and we would recognize each other)

Relax already

Battuss, i have been involved in many of these sorts of issues and can better explain our position over ICQ, if you like. 45471840

Basically, we need to cancel a check before one is reissued to get it off of the books. We can?t risk a reissued check being cashed at a later date, which is an obvious concern. As well, we cannot rely on tellers looking at the ?expire? date on a check and not accepting it, in a real world scenario.

There is a cost with the bank associated with canceling the checks; we don?t make ANYTHING off of a check cancellation. On the contrary, check cancellations cost us the time it takes to pass by all of the various employees in the process to send it off; process and verify the request, send it to the bank, get the response, make the various book entries, get it reinserted, send the client email off, etc.

Necessary evil

Why all the anger? I was actually trying to be a little light hearted, why would you get so upset and personal? For all you know, I may know quite a bit more about certain aspects of this business than you do, as I'm sure you have your own areas of expertise. Don't blow a gasket over there, I'm actually a pretty nice guy

But dont those checks expire in 90 days?
No need to cancel then since the last check prolly went out month ago. So they all expired.
I mean, youre not gonna cancel expired checks right?

no such thing as a check really expiring, most times banks dont look on issue dates

Ibill charges $30 per check, and they didn't charge anything until this year. This must be the cost paid to the bank.

I was going to use them for my mainstream but was too long in getting the site up so they shut down the account for inactivity... but they said it would be turned on again once I get the site running using thier system. Other than that.. I have not had any problems with them... I love that company.
