After yesterday's shakeup can anyone really say they can optimize a site for high rankings? They just devalued bs keyword backlinks and page stuffing and we all know page rank now means jack shit.

I agree with you teomaxxx.You have to have doubts about these guys that pay their rent from their sigs.Especially when they are all trying to game choker into getting him to hire them.His sites have all the off page factors in place already and it would take nothing to have chokers pages placed high on Google's serps.

Having read many SEO-Chat threads on the subject, there seems to be as many exact opinions as there are posters. Some say the more links the better, some say cross links don't count as much and so on...

What is clear is that a handful at Google know and that they change the rules sometimes.... I saw my sites and others such as shemp's go up and down like a yo-yo earlier this week.

With a PR8, you're in not-to-worry ville. What counts more is postion on keywords. Youn can have a PR2 and still rank high with your search words of choice. Google is obviously trying to find methods to circumvent the "cheaters", like those using refer bombs. They create unreal reports in Google. My opinion is that there is no substitute for real content and that sooner or later google will figure out away around all the doorway, refer-bomb and the like tatics.

Google has a TOS, violate it and run the risk... Many have made a ton of cash violating the rules to date, no doubt.

Oh fuck, they're just evil and want to put all the SEO consultants out of a job. My opinion is just that - you don't need an SEO consultant. Your sites are working, your traffic is up, so WTF, enjoy!!! What are they going to do - get you a PR10, then what?

Before all the weird re-calculation and re-indexing of Google started there were 2 sites (I know of) which had a PR of 8 for several weeks/months: xnxx.com and bangthumbs.com

At the moment you can't trust anything Google: one of my sites dropped from #1 and #2 spot for 'porn series' right out of the top 1,000, another of my sites dropped from #7 to 545, Stramm's page (doubledrilled.com) which took over the #1 spot was down to ~200 the next day... :ugone2far

A PR8 for an adult site, good point! At 1st, I thought that with Chokers Traffic Trade program and all the galleries... he must have zillions of backlinks and content...

So for grins I ran a comparison using MarketLeaps tool. http://www.chokinchicken.com/ vs. drudgereport.com (also a PR8). The results come back with chokinchicken.com having an above average presence and drudge is rated as a 900 lbs Gorilla! Huge difference in web presence. So it is a good question.
