Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Canada belongs to the same copyright convention as the US and about another 150 countries

You're right, you're absolutely right. My lawyers are all wrong. Sorry.

I'm a Canadian and don't claim to be an expert by any
deffinition of the word on U.S. laws.

Actually Hank, if you review 17 USC §§ 401(a), 407(a), 408(a),
I think that you'll find that all that is required is a notification
of copyright.

This can either be done with the (c) symbol or by license clause.

Wrong.. you simply can't go for the same amount of punitive damages. The copyright violator will still be punished.

producer. It's also a myth legally. It is impossible under the
current law to put something into the "public domain" unless
you are;

1. dead for 50 years (75 on wards now thanks to Disney)
2. Are the government (then all works belong to the people)

The "heart" of a work is at all times the sole property of the
producer or the parties that the producer has sold their rights
to.
Correct, and even if copyright is sold, artists can still sue for Moral rights. Either way, someone is liable.

Well considering that I also sell photography for stock for mainstream, locally as well as internationally, it's given me a lot more insight (as well as the need for several lawyers) into international conventions. Regardless of punitive damages, copyright is mine the second the shutter clicks. Even if I don't go for punitive damages, I can still sue for copyright violation, which is a federal offence in many countries, and punishable by federal fines and prison time.

We do not condone content theft; that's why the TOS of all of our programs state;

"We do not support any website engaged in, promoting, linking to, or having apparent links to the following; child pornography, beastiality, underage sex, rape, incest, password trading, warez, or hacking sites, or any site engaged in illegal activity (including copyright infringement) and therefore will terminate without pay any webmasters operating those sites."

We have shut down many webmasters for copyright infringment.

I steal my content from iFriends

On a serious note, some people don't like buying content because there's so many one hit wonders in the content industry. And lets face it, it's much easier for a spammer to just take images because they'll have to change their sites and hosting too often to worry about licenses.

Paysite owners best have a license for every image/video they use... but fly by night landing pages all circulate the same stolen content for years and years. It's not worth sponsors investigating every page that may or may not even be up and running an hour from now. What it all comes down to is $$$.

I remember talking to someone at Clickcash, showing them a page of mine... I'm like, yeah I took this and that and they were all like "Great, keep it up! " LMAO

I would think that there are MORE than enough established companies that they can get a fucking clue, get serious and pay $15 for a set of TGP content.

It's very nice of you to take it so lightly, but this is somethign that chips away at the very cornerstone of the adult industry.. Content providers are an integral part of the chain. Theft happens, sure, and nobody is ever going to stop it 100%. But when the sponsors essentially start CONDONING that shit by inaction, that is when things go WAY too far.

I'm actually surprised that you seem to condone such actions. I had a lot more respect for your opinions than that. Theft is theft, I don't care what color you paint it. People who are going to rip you off in little things are DEFINITELY not going to hesitate to do it for bigger things. Most of these thieves also cheat in other ways as well, and they ruin it for ALL affiliates of the programs. If not by content theft, by other ways.

I find stolen content of a lot of my BBW friends all the time. When I contact the TGP where it is, it gets removed immediatly. When I contact the host, they usually remove the site within the day.

The sponsers that I have contacted say "oh, we will just give them a warning, let us know if he does it again." Even when I proved that the same afifliate was using stolen content with other sponser programs, it had to be on their program alone.

What's up jact.. don't go boxing all sponsors too quickly now

I can say that within the last month I've personally termed 3 accounts for this very reason. I don't even give them a chance to explain themselves. If I get a complaint from someone, I research it and if I find it to be true the account is termed. Period.
