Defragmenting windows directory structure?

Does anyone else get pissed off that their files are nicely defragged but their folder information is still all over the goddamn drive? Not only does it make it slow loading directory listings but it takes up space where there should be other large, fully intact files.

Who has a fix?

Don't use the defragmenter that comes with Windoze because it's a joke (even M$ admits that). I use something called Diskeeper from ExecutiveSoft (http://consumer.execsoft.com/diskeep...per.asp?RId=50) It's only $29.95 and it does a great job. It has a function called "Set-And-Forget". Basically you can schedule it to run either at a certain time (like at 5am when you are asleep every night) or run when your disks are fragmented and you are not using your computer. Besides regular file defragmentation it can also keep your swap file healthy, your boot files healthy and a bunch of other things. HIghtly recommended.

Thanks, I'll try it out. I use diskkeeper and it's been great, it's just the damn folders are everywhere.
