Well Twilight Zone, but Serling is dead and the new one or ones sucked.

Darkroom was pretty killer, I love horror anthologies.

Sunday Night, which was also called "Michelob Presents Sunday Night".

Great show - they would bring on two musicians/bands, each would do a couple of songs, then they would jam together for the final number. They had some very odd mixes as a result; a couple I can remember off the top of my head are Lyle Lovett paired with Was not Was and Jean Luc Ponty with LL Cool J

A friend of mine also claims that Conway Twitty and The Residents were on the same night... never been able to confirm that, though. If true, that must have been one weird ass jam.

Muthafuckin Magnum P.I. !
That was one of the coolest shows from the 80's.
Anyone remember the episode where his Navy friend Corky was killed by a Russian Colonel that had tortured Magnum in a POW camp in Vietnam. At the end of the 2 part episode Magnum corners the guy on a cliff and points a gun at him. The Colonel tells Magnum he isn't man enough to shoot him. The episode ends with Magnum shooting him in the face. Definately was a different side to his character. The episode where he had to tread water for 24 hours after falling off a boat was pretty good.
There are only 6 episodes on VHS (and the tapes haven't been made in 10+ years) and ZERO, NONE, NOT A SINGLE FUCKING EPISODE on DVD! WTF is up with that!?!? To make things worse the show isn't even on any regular channels in the US. Fucking idiots!

Family Guy might be making a comeback.
AFAIK, Ren and Stimpy is still in production, or was until recently.

I'd love to see Fox bring back Fastlane and John Doe. Both those shows kicked ass and we were left hanging when Fox didn't purchase new seasons.

Some one mentioned bringing back the Calvin and Hobbes comic. I'd love that. Also, bring back The Far Side!

If it's a short run thast got cancelled I would say Mr. Sterling on NBC.

If it's a tv show that had a good run but I wanted to see a couple more seasons it would be Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

lol this thread is still going.

yeah the discussion originally was about shows that were CANCELLED...so shows like Seinfeld etc don't count as they had their run.

There have been plenty of great shows on t.v. that just didn't have the following to last more than a season or two...another good one that comes to mind was Twin Peaks.

They say Dr. Who is back soon.

The TV shows that were great:

UK
Most Children's TV before 1987
Black Adder
THE ADAM AND JOE SHOW (ch4 -very funny)
AT HOME WITH DR EVADNE HINGE AND DAME HILDA BRACKET (two men dressed up as women - sounds naff, but was very funny)
THE BENNY HILL SHOW (he was great)
THE 11 O'CLOCK SHOW
THE FAST SHOW
THE GOODIES (I love this show)
GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME
THE GRUMBLEWEED'S RADIO SHOW
HARRY ENFIELD'S TELEVISION PROGRAMME
THE MORECAMBE AND WISE SHOW
THE MUPPET SHOW (Exploits of the Muppet puppets as each week they attempted to put on a show, the gang included Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Rizzo the Rat, and elderly hecklers Statler and Waldorf. Each edition featured a big name guest star and the Muppets later went into the movies. Although seemingly American the show is officially a UK production.)
NAKED VIDEO
NOT THE NINE O'CLOCK NEWS
SMACK THE PONY
SPITTING IMAGE
THE TONY HANCOCK SHOW

USA
Cheers (but to be honest I do not think they could still m\ake such great lines, plus we have a great spin off, Fraser)
Sledhamer (the show about the gun mads cop)
ALF (we had it on TV, but then went to satellite - shame)

Australian
Prisoner (the show about females prisoners)

France
Magic Roundabout (with the English translation)

Comedians that I miss:

BENNY HILL
BILL HICKS
BOB HOPE
BOB MONKHOUSE (died today)
KENNY EVERETT
Les DAWSON
FRANKIE HOWERD
TERRY-THOMAS
Tony Hancock
MORECAMBE AND WISE
TONY HANCOCK
