Also, being it's a long distance relationship, she probably feels a little extra insecure because she doesn't see you as often as she would if she wasn't 100 miles away. So being she can't see what you are doing, it makes her feel comforted to get play by play details, to fill in the gaps of what she can't see or feel for herself. Even if it's petty and boring everyday life things, they can still be interesting to someone who can't see it for themselves.

It's your responsibility (if you care) to make her feel secure and wanted in the relationship. Of course, she should return the same to you... but keep in mind, long distance strain puts thoughts into people's heads they wouldn't normally have and being she's a woman, she's extra sensitive to these emotions and insecurities.
