Pick on the targets that make enough money to pay for a nice car and a nice house and who spend their time on GFY posting how great they are.

I know it may seem like that Brandon, but a lot are fighting this and that's what we need.

There are 1,000s of webmasters, small to medium paysite owners, content providers, traffic people, designers, etc. Who know there living depends on the Adult Internet being open to the many not the few. And they know that if videos are only available via sites that have paid the license they will be at a great disadvantage only being able to show stills.

However few can afford the $100 or $1,000 that the organisations opposing Acacia are asking for. Tat is why I think my scheme will work.

Any new clients signing up via this link Give to Fight Acacia will have 20% of all the money they spend given direct to the defense fund. So if you have to buy content and want to help here is how you can do it.

Anyone else who wnts to use my idea to help the fight is welcome to use it. I have not patented it.

AND MY RECORDS WILL ALWAYS STAY CONFIDENTIAL.

Charly and Paul rock!

From one of their other posts, webmasters ARE signing up and purchasing from Paul Markam.

Understand that it could cost you $15k-$50K for the whole patent process..and that doesn't guarantee that your patent will be approved.

Add on the fact that there are re-occuring patent fees to file... it could get to be a costly "hobby".

Then wait for 2-3 years until the patent is approved (assuming it was novel and unique)...and then you can start to implement your patent licensing plan....

But wait, there's more............. now you need money to sue people. There are attorney firms that will do it for a large percentag of the take.....assuming that they think you have a solid patent and a wide enough market.

What would be more effective is to buy some patents, doesn't have to even be relevant to anything..and just BROADLY INTERPRET the patent to mean more than what it says... you'll be more effective.

If you are up late nite, you might find one of those patent-it-yourself-kits. If you act now, we'll throw in a free licensing agreement and another patent-it-yourself-kit for the same low price. Call now...

A $100 or more to Fight the Patent is a wise investmet and should be done.

I still have to pay an attorney to respond by the end of the month. Not responding is stupid in my opinion (not an attorney).

Responding to the letter on your own is not smart either, ya need a lawyer to respond. That should be a patent attorney. The letter should not come from the one that received the letter and someone that understands a bit about patent law and the Federal court system. Anything you say could be shooting yourself in the foot.. (My opinion, I'm not an attorney).

The only thing smarter would be for about 2000 of us to file litigation aginst them in about every jurisdiction in all 50 states and every federal court, throw in Canada and other countries as well. Then they would know how many of us feel. Well, that will never happen..

I'm sure they are aware of how many people feel.

Berman was quoted in the AVN article (http://www.avn.com/index.php?Primary...ntent_ID=48561)

"We are receiving many e-mails and calls from Webmasters that want licenses and expect to receive more signed agreements by our November 30 deadline."

I am sure he left out all the many colorful emails and phone calls they may have been getting as well.

Out of the thousands of adult biznesses, here are the ones that are actually fighting:

Video Secrets
Homegrown Video
Lightspeed
ARS
Top Bucks
Gamelink
Ademia
AEBN
Audio Communications

(i think there are 2 more, but i don't have their names).

They are spending their own money to defend not only their own company, but also for the WHOLE industry....sounds like someone did that before..... 1st amendment or something.....

The money that they spend on the fight, doesn't get reimbursed back to them WHEN they win.

Want to help fight if you have not been contacted or summoned by Acacia?

1) give to the Defense Fund (email: spike at homegrownvideo.com)

2) become a card carrying member to IMPA... $100/year membership dues (http://www.impai.org/join.html)

3) pledge to support Fight the Patent Foundation....$100 one-time pledge at http://www.fightthepatent.com/go

"Do nothing" is not an option if you are interested in taking a stand.

An Aaron Tippin song goes "you've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything..."

most people rather bury their head in the sand and live out fantasies like flynt cares about their business and will save the day because he saved his OWN ass 25 years ago.

Sand is a great exfoliant to get rid of dried skin...

simply stick your head in the playground sand box....hold for 5 seconds, pull out, and repeat.

To exhale the bad toxins inside, chant 'go away Acacia' before you plunge your head back in.

Recent Form 10-Q for ACACIA RESEARCH CORP : http://biz.yahoo.com/e/031113/actg10-q.html

(an excerpt)

"Since November 2002, the Acacia Technologies group has entered into 58 license agreements for its DMT technology. Sixteen of these license agreements were executed in the third quarter of 2003. Subsequent to September 30, 2003, the Acacia Technologies group entered into an additional 17 license agreements. Licensees include LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation, the industry-leader for hotel video-on-demand, Grupo Pegaso, a partner with Spain's Telefonica in Mexico's second largest mobile telephony company, Virgin Radio, a leading digital broadcast company, CinemaNow, Inc., a leading Internet movie company and Internet Streaming Companies including Interactive Gallery, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of New Frontier Media, Inc., L.F.P., Inc. (owner of the Hustler websites), Vivid Entertainment, LLC., and SBO Pictures, Inc. d/b/a Wicked Pictures. All of the Acacia Technologies group's DMT license agreements provide for recurring license fee payments to be made by the respective licensees over the term of the licenses. Based on information provided by our licensees, annualized revenues from DMT licensing agreements executed to date are estimated to be between approximately $1.1 million and $1.5 million. "

They just love to use Hustler's name......

Only $1.1M - $1.5M projected for the next year based on the liceneses?!??!

I can see why the stock took a dip right after the 3Q conference call.
