Sony to release world's lightest notebook PC
 A model holds and shows Sony's new VAIO model lap top personal computer during a press unvailing at a hotel in Tokyo, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003. The new model, VAIO note 505 Extreme 'PCG-X505/SP,' loaded with Windows XP (news - web sites) and Intel Pentium M Processor, introduced carbon based materials to make possible for its weight down to 785 grams and the computer when folded 9.7 mm in thick, the thinnest in the current market in the world. The laptop will be available on market November at 349,800 yen, or US$3,238.(AP photo/Junji Kurokawa)  Sony Corp (news - web sites) unveils its new laptop computer VAIO NOTE 505 'PCG-X505/P,' which the electronics and entertainment conglomerate says is the world's thinnest and lightest laptop, in Tokyo November 12, 2003. With a shell of nickel enforced carbon mold, the Vaio Note 505 is less than one centimeter (0.4 inch) thick and weighs about 800 grams (1.76 lbs).
