I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I just answered the question. But... FYI - I used to be a trainer and a hardcore athlete and have been lifting for 15 years, I am very strict in form & movement, don't bounce or cheat (no momentum) and if you don't belive me then come to Powerhouse Gym in Chatsworth and put your money on the table and I will take it from you. I'm not trying to start a fight with you, but if you knew anything about me or ever met me you wouldn't doubt me one bit. I was the skinniest kid in my high school and all I ever wanted to do was get HUGE... little did I know, all I had to do was nothing... and sit behind this damn machine all day and collect calories. That all changed today - started working out again. $10,000 says I aint BS-ing you.

And touchy about, too, aren't you? I don't care if you can lift a million pounds, run the mile in 1:42 and squat Land Rovers. I simply made a statement based on that picture (and others I've seen of you). I've seen plenty of people that put up those numbers and you just don't look like you fit the profile. I'm not flying anywhere to put down money and watch you lift heavy shit, I'm not that concerned with the issue. If you're putting 2K on the legs, good for you, I'm impressed.

You were a skinny kid, you wanted to get huge, that's great. I wasn't aiming to strike a nerve, just making an observation. Post your routines, I'd be interested.

It's all about periodization, good form, lots of rest, pyramiding & proper breathing. Oh... and practice. Something I'm out of, but not for long. If more than 1 person wants my routines or advice I'll start another thread. This thread is for the fatest GFY members... but you guys better be nice, or me, Sleazy & Aaron will sit on you.

So far it looks like I could sit on all of you. And I bench 640 lbs.

OK, the second sentence was a lie.

Anyway, I know form and technique are important. I'm not seriously into lifting, I mostly do it to pass time. I'm mildly interested in increased strength and not at all interested in body sculpting. I do like to learn, though, and I have spent many hours reading everything I can find on the internet about weight lifting, aerobics and nutrition. My favorite places for discussion are the forae http://www.musclemagazine.com/ Even if you trained for years, I bet some of the people there could be helpful if you're getting back into it.

I don't lie. Going to bed. Gotta train tomorrow. Not engaging... something I need more practice at. ICQ me Monday night if you or anyone else here are serious about my routines. I'll train serious people for free, but only on MY schedule. Later.

Studies have shown that drinking beer doesn't cause the "beer belly". Instead, the craving for snacks it often causes is to blame :glugglug

Daymare 11-03-2003 08:46 AM

6' 1" - 188lbs. Have a little gut, but pretty toned everywhere else. Been going to the gym for 7 months and have converted about 10lbs of fat I used to have into muscle.

KRL 11-03-2003 08:50 AM

Damn, we got some serious bruisers on board.

We could put together a helluva an intense looking mob crew here.

Daymare 11-03-2003 08:53 AM

I started off pretty weak when I started, now I feel pretty confident with the results so far. I am up to (I know it's not the only thing to go by, but anyways) 135lb for my last set of bench press going to failure. My max single bench would probably be 150ish or something, not sure.

triumph 11-03-2003 08:54 AM

6 ft. 260lbs.

Theo 11-03-2003 08:55 AM

5,8 - 210

Theo 11-03-2003 09:07 AM

3y. ago, drug free and having chest as my weak part i could bench 275-280 pounds (8 times). Now i'm mostly on to aerobics planning to return to weights next year.
