Thanks ........... Any of these good for a file tranfer larger then 2gigs plus. CuteFTp times out on me with files larger then 1 gig.

Is there a way to zip and unzip a gzip on the server with any of these apps so I don't have to ssh into the server to do it?

Never tried SmartFtp. One day when I am really bored I will have to look at it. WSFTP_pro has been on my hard drive for years. Never had a need to change.

all the built in ftp programs on linux/unix are free too no need to download shit.

gFTP is one awsome program for linux/ on windows DOS can ftp for you as well IE no need to buy shit or download anything for windows.
