Who Is Currently Using Cascading Billing?
We currently use CCbill and Ibill as a backup. We are considering implementing the cascading billing solution. Has anyone found a noticable increase in signups across the board since using cascading billing? Any glory or horror stories I should hear about?
Thanks! DH |

I imagine it does pretty good, but I'd think if you just had your own merchant account with say netbilling you'd not need to cascade. The point behind cascade I thought was that ccbill might have that card blocked while epoch would let it through.

You might wanna talk to they folks at delux e pa ss, they do this and allow webmasters to select the order of their cascade. Kinda handy when one biller has a problem, you simply change your cascade order and sales do noticably improve.

I just wrote a cascading solution for a customer of mine and it seems the increase is about 20+% for them. They are getting at least another 20 or so % in signups by adding another processor to the mix, if its done right it can be a very good increase imho.

Its good for 10-15% more sales.
The problem however. The secondary processor will likely get proportionately more refunds and chargebacks. This may cause them to scrub your account harder. In those instances when your primary is down, if you move the secondary into the primary position, they will still be scrubbing as if they were in the second position getting the decline traffic. You'll probably still come out ahead, but there are drawbacks.
