...which is not the best awakening. My youngest brother rides a bike to work and was hit by a car. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is OK other than his knee and a few scrapes. They are taking X-Rays to determine the extent of the damage to his knee. He was in alot of pain so they gave him a shot to relieve the pain. Seriously damaged knees can be a lifetime problem and I hope this is not the case. He said the woman did a California stop (for those that do not know what that means...she hesitated instead of stopping) looked directly at him as he was coming down the road on his bike, then goosed it and broad sided him.

I'm 22 now and they still hurt me every single day. It's hard to sit still for long periods of time.( Like riding in a car )

I just got a call from the hospital and the prelimary results of the X-Rays are...his knee cap apparently has compound fractures (plural) and there is other damage which they are still trying to ascertain. My oldest brother also just called from his car phone and he is on the road with his attorney in tow. I suggested that it may be alittle early in the game for an attorney...as all of the damage has not even been ascertained but he argued that it is never to early to get an attorney involved.

The surgeon is out of state but will be back tomorrow and see my brother at 7:45 to determine if in fact he needs surgery. His Tibia is also split vertically running up into his knee joint.

I used to ride a motorcycle and the same applies. Multiple times I have seen people look directly at me and still pull out in front of me. Anyone here that has rode motorcycles for any period of time will have had that same experience.

My brother saw the surgeon this morning and is scheduled for surgery at 7:00 AM tomorrow. The surgeon told him that due to the type of injury...surgery may or may not be helpful but he would attempt to improve upon the injury. Bottom line he is going to have a fucked up knee for the rest of his life. He is 26.

I got a copy of the Police report today and even though the driver of the car admits being at fault and was in violation, he too is at fault as he was in the wrong bike lane so he too was in violation. I will see his attorney on Tuesday and provide him with the Police report and I will learn how this will affect the case. I would assume that damges will be negated.
