car ignition problem, any mechanics around?

this happend twice before, and today it seems like its done.

when i turn the key in the ignition, the car will start up, power and all, but when i let go of the key the car will shut off..

ive been out there for 45min playing with this fucker, im thinking its something with the ignition because the car starts fine, but cant stay on after letting go of the key..

if i hold the key the car will stay on, running fine. but when i let go it will shut off.. also the remote start will keep it on, but when i ut the key in it will shut off..

its a 91 acura legend coupe

It sounds like its just the switch. They get worn with time as well as the key. If you have a spare key try that it may work better but I doubt it.

Sounds like a simple problem. Could be worst. Just take it to your favorite shop and have a new switch put in.

On the steering column there is an ignition box ... it may need re-alignment.

Happened to me on my daughters hyundia.

Took about 15 minutes to re-align.

Is it a Mopar product? If it is it sounds like it could be the ballast resister.

Thats why i love my XF Falcon !!

I had ignition problems about 2 weeks ago now.. The key wouldnt go in all the way.. Ive now fixed it, but what i did was dismantle the ignition and start the fucking thing with a screwdriver !!

Just take it to an autoelectrition or something
