POOL.com/Snapnames/etc/ [????]

i backordered a domain with pool.com... and pool.com says i wasnt the only one who backordered it, so now its at auction. Checking the whois info on the domain, it still shows 'pending delete'.. (was to be deleted today)... so I checked out other sites like snapnames and put the name in for a backorder to test, and it says that the domain is already backordered, so they wont accept new orders.

I dont get it.... POOL.com started this auction, but how do I know they really got the name? I would assume they did, because why would they hold an auction for what they dont own. As far as snapnames and the other sites, POOL.com wouldnt auction the name between users of other sites (like snapnames), right?

That's correct. More than one person must have bid on it and both were pool customers.

I've had exceptional service with them. No problems of any kind.

buydomains will bid on domains you win at pool.com.. I backordered acute.com, pool nabbed it and i thought sweet. I think the bidding (prior to drop) got to $1500 then it dropped and went to auction and sold for $3200 and who got it? Buydomains fuckers as if they don't enough names with their 10 RRP's or whatever they got.

The only way to truly get domains without the auction crap is snapnames.com. The turbosnapper engine is a first come first served type of gig...$65 and if you're first in line...its yours.

Pool.com has a racket going with the auction shit...

I know of a free site that allows you to search through pending deletion domaines...filtered by backlinks, pr, listing in various se's...all kinds of shit...but I ain't given out my secret.

Exactly, most any name with any kind of real value is getting snatched up by buydomains or ultsearch.

Fuck those fucking fuckers.

Hopefully WLS will come to pass and we can get that brief shot at backordering something valueable and actually stand a chance of getting it someday.

Whats worse? The "Domain Justice Coalition" (featuring the industries biggest domain squatters) or Verislime? I know the DJC is out for themselves so they can keep fucking over the average domainer... Verislime is just out to fuck everyone over so I dont take it personally coming from them.

You do understand that none of the companies own the domain yet right? You're making it sound like you're trying to buy a domain. What you're really doing is buying the right to get the name from pool if they snag it before the other companies. In that case it'll be registered in your name with your billing info. Same with snap, but with snap they charge you for credits so even if you don't get the name you have the credit for you've already transferred them the $65.

ok, pool.com has the name.

Since I was the 1st to backorder it, I have the 1st bid. The auction ends on saturday, and i still have the first bid. My question is, I want to put in a maximum bid, but i dont want the bid amount to increase. I saw no option to change maximum bid amount... so if I place another bid even tho i have the current winning bid, will the bid amount/count increase?

and man, i hope it wasnt buydomains that also backordered it. I dont have a lot of $$$ unfortunately for this domain, so I hope whoever else backordered it is in the same predicament.

well it seems the person who backordered it at snapnames.com lost to pool.com... so im pretty happy i went with pool.. even tho i may lose at auction, at least i got this far.

No your bid will only increase when someone has beat your current bid.
Snapnames are hopeless at the moment.Pool is run by the former vicepresident of snapnames and I reckon there is some deal going on between them.Anyway snapnames might get their act together on oct 27

Snapnames is providing the wls technology and will offer their service to other TLDs and pool will be a thing of the past.

No, there is no deal beetween them.

You might be wrong about pool being a thing of the past when WLS comes in.Theres nothing to stop them using their scripts to backorder the names first and then auction them off like now.
In fact I would say you would be dreaming.

well i was hoping that putting in a new bid to update my maximum bid from the default $60 would NOT increase the bid count, but unfortunately it did.

well, i have my fingers crossed.

like i said, its a gaming domain. A few months ago I was brainstorming the idea of setting up a PC gaming cafe, coupled with a gamers website by the same name.. so i looked up a few domains. No reason to keep it secret now... i'll prolly lose the auction anyway,,,,, its for

fraggers.com

They can use the scripts all they want, if there is a WLS subscription on the domain it won't even drop in the first place.

You dony get it do you.Let me spell it out for you.
They use their scripts to put a WLS on the domain name themselves and then when they get the domain they auction it.Its just like BD and ultrasearch use pool as well so if they dont get the name themselves they win it in an auction at pool.
DO YOU GET IT NOW!?
