buying new digital camera need advice

Im considering 2 different models

Nikon Coolpix 5700
and the
Sony DSC-F717

Which camera is better and why?

I have Canon D1 - the best, but Canon D10 - the normal price!

Both are excellent cameras. I'm a major fan of anything Nikon and have been buying them for a long time.

If you look at what the Pro's use, you always see Nikon's or Canon's around their necks.

it's the Canon 10D ....Lycos made a typo at the top.
