I have a quick question.

How do you protect your WMV. files when you're leasing them to customers?

I see that Quicktime has a pretty good protection scheme but Windows seems to allow all kinds of crazy things like hotlinking etc.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated

You cant really stop them totally but you sure can put obstacles in their way

I got something from michaelw for it and its works fine forgot the url though

Run a search. There was a thread about this where you install a script that plants cookies to deter copying. Also another thread on embedding the wmv into an html page where it is autoplayed but not saveable.

You can use a script that will call them from some where on your server people can not hotlink them. For example script would call them from

/usr/home/movies
not
/usr/home/domain.com/movies/

Contact Woj on ICQ: 33375924 for a script that can do this he has already made me one. He also has a script to run a content plug-in if you need.

You can digitaly lock them

How does DRM work? do u need a winodws server? Can you do it with a linux server?
