CONTENT PROVIDERS! How do you protect your WMV. files?
I have a quick question.
How do you protect your WMV. files when you're leasing them to customers? I see that Quicktime has a pretty good protection scheme but Windows seems to allow all kinds of crazy things like hotlinking etc. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated :helpme :helpme :helpme :helpme |
anti link hot protection you need
You cant really stop them totally but you sure can put obstacles in their way I got something from michaelw for it and its works fine forgot the url though |
Run a search. There was a thread about this where you install a script that plants cookies to deter copying. Also another thread on embedding the wmv into an html page where it is autoplayed but not saveable.

You can use a script that will call them from some where on your server people can not hotlink them. For example script would call them from
/usr/home/movies not /usr/home/domain.com/movies/ Contact Woj on ICQ: 33375924 for a script that can do this he has already made me one. He also has a script to run a content plug-in if you need. |
look up asf and asx file formats.
You can digitaly lock them |
Digital Rights Management (DRM) - its the easiest way to do it.
