I've seen little evidence that such people exist in number anywhere. What few there are find each other and break the spell.

I'v seen things like this many times more than I can count. On many occasions after something like this is thrown up in our face I've discussed it with family, friends and other fellow university students just to see if other people feel this way. The answer has been "no" probably 95% of the time. Who the fuck are they polling?

And ironically it's the "patriotic right" that seem to be doing most of the threatening.

Well my point in this thread certainly wasn't to go looking for the "dumb American". I honestly wanted to know if this is what Americans think. My country isn't perfect, I never claimed it was.. However I'm very realistic, I have yet to see ANY country that's perfect. But it would sadden me to think that the majority of average Americans, the guys who should be informed of better by the media and whomever else, would believe that Al Queda was gone.. I've pretty much got my answer though :)

But that doesnt change the fact that there are as many canadians here that post regularly, and people from the UK, and elsewhere. It doesnt matter HOW MANY people congregate here from a certain place. What does that have to do with a person speaking out or questioning whats happening in their city?

I make posts about local LA shit all the time, sometimes LA news is the first news in the country to report things. Just because there is only 1 person from Brazil here doesnt mean he cant make a post about a local man was busted for explosives and taken to jail and executed without trial. One person is enough to speak loud enough on this board or any other to be heard.

I was pointing out to a canadian on this board one day about how the medical equipment in 50% of all diagnositc equipment (including ultrasound equip) in canada's hospitals was neglected and obsolete due to the old health care system and how they managed their equipment and funds. Basically the nurses were not trained to use this 'new' equipment so it was never used and became onbsolete, a HUGE waste of funds. I never saw any canadian complain about that.
