I find Intuit's Quicken quite easy and use it myself...
Though: as an Ozzie - it's not completely GST compliant - - - but easy!

I'm also an accountant and I always recommend quick books to clients. Once you get it setup get yourself some file folders. File your receitpts that you need to enter in one folder, once they are posted put them into a second folder. Just getting them into a folder in one place will help. You can even divide them up into different expenses and revenue. When I used to set people of I had them purchase an accordian file and file everything in there.
To try recreating what you had for last year try going to where you paid the expenses to recreate them. Most webmasters use paypal, their credit card to pay for expenses. Which makes it easy to get everything together. Lorna |

I use QuickBooks. Quicken is more of for home use but is pretty simple and will work if you just want to record what is coming in and going out. If your serious about your business, I would get QuickBooks if I were you. Most accounts and small businesses either use QuickBooks or PeachTree.

Cool.
Thanks for all the advice people, really helpful. Thankyfully, i've kept all my documents, but in no particular order, and found out annoying things like when i bought my camera, the dick who sent it over put its value on his receipt as '190$' in a stupid attempt to reduce tax, which might be a fun idea, but nails me because I can't prove I paid $900US for it. Anyhow.. which version fo Quickbooks do you recommend? Pro, lite, normal etc. Thanks again! Simon |

You just need QuickBooks Basic. The Pro and Premier just has more stuff that you more than likely won't use. You can compare them at
